Don't activate Humble key from today's bundle

I already had a Control Standard Edition from Humble long time ago. But then I found that DLCs were not included so I purchased AWE and Foundation DLCs from humble when it was on sale. So now I have a full ultimate edition.

However, today I purchased a Humble Heroine Bundle, and I got stupidly curious, what happens if I try to register Control Ultimate Edition that comes with this bundle. Will it say that I already own the product? So I decided to test and turned out I just wasted a game key. lol. It registered as if I never owned the game, and the key is now used, but nothing has changed. lol. I still have the game, and DLCs that I got separately. It's only a few dollars if I divide the bundle price with 8 games that comes with it, so... Oh Welp. haha.

But if you already have the main game and all the DLCs separately like me, don't use it. I'm not sure what's gonna happen if you only have the main game and no DLCs. Maybe it will register the missing DLCs.

So don't you have two versions of the game separately in your library? The Ultimate Edition weighs less than Standard Edition + DLCs.

Standard+DLCs - 49,58GB
Ultimate Edition - 42,83GB

You can try force installing specific version from steamdb website.

Nope, I only have one Control Ultimate Edition in my library. :( I already had game installed on my PC and I just checked the installed folder size and it's still the same 49.58GB

If you never have Control on your Steam account, it's safe to activate the Control Ultimate Edition from the Humble Heroines bundle with install size 42.83 GB.

If you already have Control standard edition, you'll get the standard edition + DLC with install size 49.58 GB.

You need to REMOVE Control standard edition from your account to be able to install the "real" Ultimate Edition.

I'm getting a 42.83 GB install size after going to the steam support page for Control Ultimate Edition and removing the standard edition.

Thanks for letting me know, I didn't know that we can delete the game from library. I went to support page and I did found two games in one page:
Control
Control - Ultimate Edition

But both "Control + DLCs" and "Control Ultimae Edition" are actually the exact same thing, I'm just gonna leave it as it is. haha

I'm not sure about that. People say that Ultimate edition received more patches, even with some visual improvements. I wish there was some reliable comparison somewhere...

How do you force install from steamdb? I found this link, https://steamdb.info/depot/870781/ but I don't see install button on top.
When I try to install from Steam, it tries to download 92.41GB. Which is 49.58 + 42.83, but on download status page, it says 49.58. lol

Contact steam support and you might be able to retrieve the key back. Explain that you registered the exactly same product you already own. Though if they accept your request, I believe they will say something along the lines that they will do it only once per account.

You'll have to reinstall it. When you do you'll notice it actually downloads both so the size goes up to 92.41 GB until you remove either via Steam Support

You can still select what DLC is included from settings so if you own the season pass might as well remove that to save the 17 bytes.
