Apparently you didn't check humble's store.

It is and has always been available there.

If you talking about Humble Choice. It was on Humble Choice March 2021. They promised standard version there.

You need to buy dlc separately. Humble Store selling season pass for it already.

I love the implied passive condescension of the word "apparently." No, "apparently" people don't implicitly trust the third-party vendor at the center of their issue, the one famous for running out of keys for purchases, to make another purchase.

To get just the DLC for the game, you can buy it from Humble, if you trust them. To get the actual Ultimate Edition build of the game, you have remove it from your Steam account and then buy it again. Alternatively, you should check if you have any cousins that own the game, remove it from your library, and then turn on Family Sharing.

If you don't trust humble, why did you get the humble version to begin with?

That was the only legitimate place to get the base edition on steam.

the problem is, why is the one from hb and from steam are both called "Control Ultimate Edition"??? when both are very different

if that's not misleading, then what is???

Time doesn't happen all at once. I was not aware of how often humble sold keys they didn't have before they sold me keys they didn't have. Likewise, I was not aware of how poorly conceived their version of Control was before I knew the game would advertise dead links to DLC and conflict with future sales on Steam.

"their version"

It's not their version. It's the original pre-ultimate edition version that released on epic.

And delays due to stock issues aside, humble is fine.

They're not to blame for this.

It's the uniquely problematic version that was exclusively available through Humble. It's a product that had a temporary footnote for a permanent naming conflict. It's a different Depot ID that continues to conflict in current bundles...and Humble continues to sell the DLC for it that Steam won't. It kinda is their version.

No, 505 is to blame for removing it from sale on steam, but still generating keys for it for humble to sell.

They're also to blame for the naming issue.

And the refusal to do anything about it.

Humble is just selling what 505 provided them with.

Again, it's the same version that is on epic as the standard edition there.

The season pass costs over half again as much money as buying the complete edition on Humble right now.
HoboKeyMaster Sep 15, 2022 @ 7:07pm
Wait, 505 removed the Season Pass on Steam? After they messed up the name of the two different packages?

How to get the season pass without having to buy from a 3rd party store? HB etc are more expensive than regional pricing on Steam
