Differences between DirectX 11 and 12
Apologies if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find the answer. So when I play the DirectX 12 version, I get those blurry textures sooner or later. That PCGaming wiki fix with that tweakables file doesn't work. However, the DirectX 11 version has no texture problems at all.

So my question, what's actually different between the DirectX 11 and 12 versions of the game? Thank you.

The texture mode does work.

On my 5700 XT (with DXNAVI), DX11 is some 5-15 fps faster than DX12.

You also need DX12 for RT and DLSS2 work.

Thanks for the answers, I hope more are coming from others who might know more.

My card is GTX 1660ti, I don't have RT or DLSS2, so is there any advantage to DirectX 12?

I didn't think the texture mod was needed in DirectX 11, but then again, I forgot I had it installed because of DirectX 12 where that didn't work. Are you telling me you had texture blurring in DirectX 11 prior to installing the mod?

The texture streaming mod works and helps in both DX version.

You need to try to see if DX12 provides any particular boost for you.

You have a 1660 Ti, so you are able to try RT in DX12, even if the performance hit will be massive. Give it a shot either way.

Yeah, I know I can use ray tracing but the frame rate drop is not worth it. Performance in frame rate seems similar between DirectX 11 and 12 at max settings (except ray tracing). But beyond ray tracing and dlss (which I can't do), is there any other graphical improvement in the DirectX 12 version?

No.

Unless there is RT or DLSS2/FSR2, DX12 has not presented extra visuals options in any game.

Thank you. Looks like it's gonna be DirectX 11 for me then.

Not new there either.

Game launched with both dx11 and dx12 modes back at the initial launch on epic in 2019. It was one of the flagship games for rtx cards and ray tracing in general.

It actually is worth it. I get a solid 60fps on max settings with only a 3060Ti. The visuals are well worth it if you can afford it.

He said the impact is not worth it because he has a 1660 Ti, with no dedicated RT cores and no option to use DLSS.

Only reason I wondered is my performance seems much better now then before
