Stuttering FIX for all Steam users (IMPORTANT)
RTX 3090 / 5900X
If anyone has stutter lock freez/ SPIKE LAGS
use dx11 its faster and runs better.
DX 12 its good but uses to much disk bandwith and it makes the game stutter
Also for a buttery smooth experience under DX11:
Also a good useful tip
Disable Control Flow Guard under the Exploit Settings on your Windows Defender or add an exception or a rule to the Control.exe

It now plays very smoothly and looks better too. I'm not sure what happened but on my first run, the game was very stuttery as if it were running at 20fps. I had to bring it down to DX11 to fix that, initially.

But now it stays above 60fps and I'm using the highest AA available as well.
I do play at 1080p however, since my monitor is just your average 24'' 1080p 165hz Gsync panel. Pushing for 1440p DSR may be look better but pretty sure that my system wouldn't be able to handle a stable 60fps and up at that resolution with my current eye candy settings.

For now, it looks good enough and runs very smooth. I wonder if maybe a GPU driver update fixed my problem.

So... i had no issues like that and my entire gameplay was done using dx12 mode.

You may want to do some investigation into your hardware.

Also using DX 11 textures looks better.

nothing to do with the hardware its just the DX12 being wierd.
DX11 better performance ,better looking textures overall a better exprience.
love the game so far 4k maxed <3

There's a mod to fix the texture issue.

And again: I had no issues with stutter or lag spikes.

Look at your end.

I don't know what to say about that Bob tell your friends who belive you.
I said the game its using for no reason more disk bandwith under DX12 and can cause stuttering there is no reason why not using a superior API in this case its DX11.

See, this is an actual useful tip.

"Just play on dx11 and lose out on features" is not a tip.

It's giving up on figuring out what the actual problem is.

Do you have the game installed on a spinning drive or something? Because, seriously, I have never had any issues with disk access while playing.

install the game on a slower SSD under DX12 .
under DX12 u will have constant stutter while on DX11 perfect fluidity
The game was develop with high disk usage in mind the engine itself but we are lucky that we can use the saviour DX11.
Finished the game (RTX 3060ti - DX12 - maxed out, ray tracing + DLSS) with absolutely no stutter.

I was talking about the users with slower SSD and HDD. (in my case I like to put bunch of games in my external 5t HDD)
NVME/ newer SSD its to fast for the issue to manifest altough it can happen.

So in other words, you're blaming the game for you installing it on a slow drive.

What did I say in my first post again?

even slower SSD's the game its known to have high disk usage I am trying to help other users who can't afford the latest and greatest NVME
Seamus Jan 13, 2022 @ 12:22pm
You're basing this on your experience with the game installed on an external drive hard drive.

External hard drives are PAINFULLY slow.

This is a you problem.
