I assume that is done on purpose to make people come back to try. What you do is you attack the vending machines and if they do not react you just reload the map by going to another map and back. That way I finished this achivement. There are two rooms (adjacent waypoints) that you can try.

I think there is an area that stops being accessible iirc so I wouldn't wait to go back. Was just wandering about this achievement because it seems glitched too... Shoot all the machines, reset to main title if the achievement doesn't pop seems to be the consensus online.

I haven't come across a live one yet :steamfacepalm:

Yea I had to go back and forth a few times for a lively one.

It has to be bugged. I think I 'lost' one, as in it activated and then ran off while I was overwhelmed by hiss. I've killed the 12 locations many times over the last week, probably near 100+, and that last one I need isn't appearing. Please devs look into this, its the last one I need for 100%

I was trying this for over an hour, not one tried to run away from me, such a stupid achievement, I think I will pass this one.

I think Ill pass too...or maybe come back later on. I've burned up 3-4 hours just trying to find ONE, which I still haven't. Should be a very simple challenge...

The going back to main title thing worked like a charm for me, I just kept shooting the same three machines in one area and they popped random pretty quickly honestly, was done in like 10 minutes tops.

Ya know, I think I'll give this method a try. I do hate giving up.

Did you guys find a solution for this? I have visited every location and spent like 2 hours but couldn't even managed to find a single one... Any help will be greatly appreciated...
You have to load into another area and back to reset the machines . Each time you do there's a chance that one or more will spawn as altered vending machines.

Well I have tried that method for over 2 hours and came up empty. Not a single one spawn as an altered item :(

Just did the 4 machines in 15 minutes right now

Visit (kill) all the machines
Exit to menu to reset them all (faster than going to another area for me)
Continue game
Back to visit them all

Never worked for me :steamfacepalm:
My patience ran out. I may revisit, I may not.

I read this:

"After killing another 100 frigging vending machines to no avail, I resorted to more brutal methods ... Do not do the following unless you have finished everything else.

On the main menu, select Missions then EndGame. This will reset part of your advancement, you will lose abilities, mods on your guns and so on.

Now go back to your normal runs to kill the machines : abandonned offices, operations corridor, sealed firebreak. It took me less than 5 minutes to get the remaining 3 altered vending machines.

Thoerically, you can backup your save before doing that : I did it, it seems to work, but I can't guarantee it. Before doing the above, make a copy of the following folder : <Steam Installation path>/userdata/<your user number>870780/remote.

As soon as you're done with the achievement, delete the "remote" folder and rename your copy to "remote" again, and you should get your previous save back (hopefully)"

I have tried that too but came up empty as well, but I will try and progress the game a bit and see if it works. The sad thing for me is that I have completed so many sh*tty games and I can't complete the one I have enjoyed the most (or at least one of the 2).
