Denuvo, perhaps?
And it's a very expensive barn door to install too, for a game you're trying to promote to a new audience - most of whom take many, MANY points off a game for having badly implemented DRM on a single-player game.
Console copies for one.
It's so strange for management at these companies to think that in an era of massive internet and power and pandemic issues, that asking PC player who pay for their games to be the ONLY ones that suffer the consequences of any hickups in their internet connection with a game that shuts itself off.
On a single-player game.
This constant punishment of your own customers is absurd - but in the waste of resources you put into making developers work on it, and in how far you go to hamstring your own audience.
People CAN play your game without paying for it, and get a better product - when that's the case, that means you've majorly screwed up your own product, and only for your own paying customers.
It makes existing customers not want to put any effort supporting your DLC either.
I havent tried playing it without internet but its got horrible input delay, i wonder if input is tied to that
But alas, Humble doesn't care and these Devs/Publishers don't care...They give us a glorified demo and lock it up with always online...Thanks....<sarcasm>
If they didn't add the offline mode, it probably means the game is lacking all the patches/updates launched after the one that allowed u to play offline.
Probably a good idea to submit a request on their support page( https://support.505games.com/hc/en-us/requests/new ) asking for the feature, and the patches that weren't included on the standard version.
