Darling's 5 card puzzle? Prism shattered. Did I just fail?
Topic. The one where there are hints throughout the room and Marshall butting in and state the obvious: "I think the drawings on the boards meant something." Like, no ♥♥♥♥.

I only got to try to solve it once. One try and my prism shattered. I don't believe this is supposed to happen if you solve it correctly. So any ideas on how to actually solve it? What happens if you solve it correctly? Do you entirely skip the mission to retrieve the crystal?

It isn't a fail, just get a new one.

That's not the point of the question.

What I want to know is: what happened exactly? Did I put in the wrong code and it shattered? Or did I put in the right code and it shattered anyway?

That shattering's supposed to happen when you put in the right code?

Or you mean you can put in the wrong code and if it breaks, you just go get a new one?

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Oh, thanks. So I got it on the very first try then? I couldn't believe it. I attempted to turned up the machine only once and it immediately shattered so I thought I must've done something wrong. I couldn't believe it that the first combination I wasn't even sure would work would do it, and the game was punishing me by giving me a mission to get a new one or something.

Yeah, I was nervous that I'd messed it up too :-)
