Is Surge Protector Bugged?

I've killed a whole bunch of baddies with Surge, and my count on the Achievement page is still 0/50. It looks like that achievement was originally part of the AWE DLC. I'm still in the first DLC, does it only count in areas related to the AWE DLC?

I think a few achievements reset progress if you didn't obtain the achievement and you close the game. (I have not confirmed this).

Another potential issue is how the achievements sync since it could be that until you do a certain action, the achievement progress doesn't update (Control wouldn't be the first game with this issue).

These two issues combined could mean that you have to keep playing without closing the game until the achievement pops.

I dunno. I know the "resets when you close the game" thing happens with the Alerts, but I still get progress notifications on that what I finish an alert. There's also a few achievements where the progress notifications reset, but your actual progress doesn't.

With Surge Protector, I never get any progress notifications. I'm thinking it can't be progressed until you start the AWE DLC, I'll update when I do so.

Wait, how do you have the Surge if you haven't started the content for the Surge?

I would suggest racking some Surge kills only in Investigative Sector (AWE dlc area). The steam achievement counter would not increment otherwise.

Surge Protector achievement doesn't reset if you quit the game. I quit the game 5-6 times after getting the surge. Still got the achievement when kill count reached 50.(I'm sure 'cause I killed 12 after getting the surge. Next session, I killed 3 and the progress showed 15)

But you are right about achievement sync. I fully upgraded the Surge but didn't unlock the Surge of Power achievement. When i quit the game, the achievement popped. Same thing happened with many other achievements. So if you are not seeing an achievement, just quit the game and let them sync. Only "Crisis Management" achievement resets when you quit the game.
