Can't hear voice audio over Discord stream
Found a strange issue where when I stream this game over discord to my friends, they can hear everything in game EXCEPT character dialogue. It's all just muted for them. I can hear it fine. What's weird is they can hear the little chimes at the beginning of some of the multimedia videos, and even the film grain effect, but once a character like Dr. Darling starts talking, they can't hear him. Tried running and streaming in both DirectX 11 and 12 but no change. Anyone else have this issue? It's really weird and specific, but reproducible for anyone I stream this to over discord.

Have you turn on the streaming option?

Just found it on Discord, you have to turn off "Use an experimental method to capture audio from applications." setting in Voice & Video. Boom

ok so I have to use this on obs so I can separate the audio from different applications and I'm having the same issue. disabling application capture is not an option. anyone has a fix?

Found the solution, disable Windows Sonic for Headphones. it's in the Audio Settings.

You ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ champ, that fixed the same issue with The Invincible! I wouldn't have thought about the Sonic setting at all.
Thank you

I don't even know how that makes sense, but glad I could help! For me it was especially ironic cuz I had the issue on a different game.... Sonic Frontiers, lmao.

What's funny is I also had this issue in Alan wake too. Thought maybe Remedy was doing something weird with their game audio lol

I'm guessing it might be something that separates the audio into different tracks to create the spacial sound effect, to make some things in the game sound like they're really right next to you, things like... voices. then the application capture fails to capture that different track of the spacial audio effect. makes sense right? just my guess.

for windows 10: right click the sound icon on system tray > spacial sound > off
for windows 11: left click the sound icon on system tray > click on the icon right next to the volume, it says "sound output" (or something similar) when you hover it > spacial sound should appear below the devices, click off
