Lost Progression
Why can we not save manually? My game crashed while exiting, and now I lost at least 2 hours of progression even though I went to a Control Point to make sure that my game saved. This happens when you don't implement manual save.

Some things save when you do them. Even if you die or crash you will have some of those items when you continue. As for a manual save working better than control points, it would be the same issue. If you went to a control point, that was a manual save. If you used a control point, you could not have lost progress unless the game crashed while it was saving.

Pretty impossible you didnt opened your inventory for 2 hours.

I hate control points! A few hours in the game and I remember again how much I hate them.

You dont even need these points to save. You save at open the inventory, collecting collectibles, I think even at the end of each fight. Dont know why, but he isnt telling us the whole story.

no he's probably telling us the truth. 2 times so far NPCs/enemies haven't spawned for me and i had to restart the chapter. ♥♥♥♥ programming i feel scammed having bought this tbh

It could be a slightly different issue. Other people are mentioning the "saving" symbol turning on and just staying on and then later they crash out and lose progress because nothing was saving.

Even if that is the real problem, manual saving won't help because the save has already failed and you wouldn't be able to force it at that point.

The game saves more often than he expects and if he is having trouble then there is some other issue that has to be found to fix the problem. It isn't a lack of manual saving causing problems.

Well I lost progress after going to a control point. I waited for saving to end. I'm not talking only about collectibles either. I lost progression in my quest.

First of all I'm not a 'he'.

Of course I did open my inventory during 2 hours of gameplay, and I did see the saving icon multiple times. I also added that I used control points. Game didn't crash during saving. My game should have been saved. That's what I'm trying to explain. I don't know how it happened. I lost progression in my quest after the crash, even though I saved multiple times.

Also internet is full of people who came across the same exact problem as me; so I don't know why I'm that unbelievable. This happened to a lot of people, most probably latest save file being corrupted. It is a common problem for a whole year (not a launcher problem, it happened to Epic users too), and it has not been fixed.

I've just had the same problem - saved game last time on control point and saw saving icon. Today I'm like 1 hour behind in my progress. I hope I will get refund (2,5h played already)

Nice, same thing happened to me. I'm back in the powerplant and need to start all the way from the beginning of the power plant despite having done everything except for going to the control room. My game crashed and when I rebooted, I was all the way back at the control point before you talk to the janitor

I was loving this game a lot but this is such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ momentum killer for real

I just had a similar crash. Some story spoilers here (I’m about 3 hrs into the game)

I got to Arish in the Altus chamber. I proceed through to the Black Rock Quarry and got all the way down by manually dropping down the elevator levels/piping/etc.. Saved at a control point at least twice during this time. Waited for the icon to stop spinning (it kept going). Game crashed to a black screen. Once I reloaded I was back at Arish. Fortunately I only lost about 20 mins of progress, but this is frustrating.
