[SOLVED] Enable DX12 on AMD RX580?

Hi Guys,

I can not start the Game with DX12.
Everytime it starts the ...win7_f.exe
Is the AMD RX580 not compatible for this Game in DX12?

My System:
Win 10 Pro 64bit (19041)
Intel i5 6600K
16GB DDR4 3000MHz
AMD RX580 8GB (Driver 19.8.3)

Windows 7 is not compatible with DX12. Upgrade to Windows 10.

RX580 can use DX12 but its not really worth it unless you want to use raytracing

Ray tracing requires dx12. dx12 does not require ray tracing.

If the game is flat out refusing to boot in dx12 mode when you're on win 10 and on a compatible card, try this.

edit: In addition, you should rename control.exe to something else, then rename control_dx12.exe to control.exe

Skips the launcher and straight launches the dx12 executable.

had to create steam_appid.txt with the Game ID inside.
Now it works fine :)
