The ridiculous, absurd, disastrous, deplorable and insulting Spanish dubbing
The store page on Steam says this game has only English dubbing, but there are gameplays with Spanish dubbing. Is this a bad joke???...

Well. You probably don't speak Spanish, but let me tell you that the Spanish dubbing is at the same level and bad reputation as Arizona Sunshine videogame, considered one of the worst spanish dubbing in the video game history, and Control will be now to start being included on this infamous list.

Nobody within Spain is going to buy a game for 50€-60€ with such a horrible dubbing made by low-cost interpreters. This dubbing is ridiculously catastrophic, see it by yourself:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRTLm6az5Vk&feature=em-uploademail

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTbsbcL0NOk

If this is for real, then your company can start saying goodbye to game sales on Spain, and say hello to very bad reputation for your future games.

Really, Remedy Entertainment, what the hell are you doing?. Who made this kind of decision?. Maybe that person should be fired, because this Spanish dubbing will be translated into tons of bad words, bad reputation and bad marketing for your company, for life. At least from the vast majority of the Spanish and Latin-american consumers of your games.

Your company demonstrated that money/business is the most important thing due the deal with that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and greedy 'Epic Games', however, see how ironic it is, because precisely money is what you will not be able to do in Spain and from Spanish-speaking consumers who will be very disappointed.

You could have paid a little more to hire a Spanish dubbing company capable of doing a decent dubbing. Now you will lose money, much more money, for not paying enough to take care of the consumer user-experience and satisfaction by making at least a decent dubbing. But hey, business are business, so if you paid a very low cost for a mediocre Spanish dubbing, you have now more money, and that will be always better regardless of the final quality of your product!, isn't it?. Sure, we'll see. (sarcasm)

It is really a shame, because the game itself seems to be very good, with a deep history on background and good characters. But the Spanish dubbing will make it unplayable. It is just insulting.

-----------------------------------

I also noticed that Control has been included in recent tops of the worst Spanish video games dubbings on Youtube, as for example this one:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAmTLgV8gw8

...and this is only the beginning.

Please, do something about it. This game deserves a dubbing with a minimum of decency and professionalism.

Greets.

Spanish dubbing has been done by a company based in London, which has low-cost "actors" in all the world's languages appears to be.

https://www.voicesquad.com/category/language/spanish/

Can the German and French players provide information about your dubbing? It is possible that they are also made by the same company and have a similar quality.

It's been years since such a bad job was done. First the exclusivity in Epic and now this, it is not good marketing strategy to laugh at users.

Nah, this is just one of the worst dubbing ever seen in spanish. There are very few games with worse dubbing, maybe Iron Man 2, Arizona Sunshine and the first dubbing of Age of Pirates.

Voices are not only crap and unprofessional, there's no sync with lips, subtitles and even some scenes.

Haha.English is not my mother tongue either but i'm not crying.Be grateful for they at least dubbed it or learn the language.Nobody even has to add your language's subtitle or something.

Making games and selling them is a trade indeed. Also the games are expensive in my country too... All in all, we got nothing to do.So, take it or leave it.

That's nice. Like I said there is no dub at all for most languages even for native language of the studio that made the game. Spaniards are entitled about this ♥♥♥♥ as they can be.

It's a fairly low budget game, what you expect?

Pal, your brain must be burning with all that strawmanning and trolling. Or maybe is because your IQ is not capable to understand it.

Do you think this dude needs to learn English when he/she has obviously created a post in perfect English? You are just the typical internet trolling idiot with falacies. Return to your cave and don't come out of it.

I will play this game in English, but dubbing a game with the budget it has with low budget actors and hiring one of the most horrible actresses there are in Spain simply because she is known, it's simply insulting.

There are wonderful voice actors in Spain, the best of the best in the entire world. But I consume almost all my entertainment media in original version. One thing doesn't change the other... They are not exclusive things.

Imbecile...

P.S.: so when it's being released? Because you know, I'm not getting it on Epic...

This ♥♥♥♥♥♥ entitlement is the reason why localizations takes ages and games are delayed often in Europe. The rest of us are perfectly capable of consuming products in English or reading subtitles. Hell we might actually learn a little bit of a foreign language from using subs (the horror...).

Learn English like the rest of us do is not an insult to this user but your entire country. "Best voice actors in the world". ♥♥♥♥ off... Such self importance to a ridiculous degree. You have no idea how well your dubbers compare to the ones in other countries because all you listen to is your own dubs until you are absolutely forced to get exposed to a foreign language.

The amount of self importance here is ridiculous to a degree that would even shock the French, whom have actually calmed down with their language Nazism. I'm glad Remedy spent their money polishing the game instead of wasting it on voice acting divas. Companies having to waste money on fully voice acted localization to even sell a game is an attitude problem.

Harsh but true, in this digital age English has become the universal language. So as an avid gamer myself if I did not know English I would want to learn it post haste. Plus all the films that come out of Hollywood (in English) it just seems like a no brainier to pick it up. Dubbing is even horrid most times when it is dubbed in English as it seems the voice "actors" they hire for such jobs are not qualified to hold a conversation let alone do any voice acting.

What is even the point of dubbing at this point. Companies have begun hiring actors and translate their acting to the game not just through audio but visually. They have specific actors in mind because they have a certain acting style that fits the character they are trying to portray. All of that is lost in dubbing. Game acting is going beyond voice acting at this point with companies like remedy using facial motion capture. The characters aren't just faceless voices anymore.

Maybe remedy made a ♥♥♥♥ half assed dub because they actually want people to experience the game how it was originally presented instead through headless voices that don't match the face they are coming out from.

Remedy comes from a culture where almost nothing is dubbed. Dubs are reserved for children's cartoons here because they have a hard time following subs at young age, but everything else is subtitled. Could be that Remedy just didn't realize how difficult it is for some Europeans to follow simple text on screen. After all subtitled media and the appreciation for the original performance has been their entire life. That could be the reason why they didn't really give a second thought for the quality of the dubbing. Maybe you are not really supposed to use it, It's just there out of necessity.

Could be that Remedy just didn't consider the absolute inability of reading subtitles for dealing with subtitles, when subtitled media and the appreciation for the original performance has been their entire life, which is why things like foreign dubs was at the bottom of their list of importance when it came to their game.
I stopped reading when you asked what the point was....

Seeing as I made my point in that quote, perhaps you should keep learning English?

Maybe you should have kept on reading because that wasn't really directed at you and my post was more in agreement with yours than against it. Though thanks to you I have now clarified the post a bit.
