Anybody know how to execute a down attack?

Just got myself a skill called down attack, but when I tried to execute a downed heavens smile with the e button, the lil' ♥♥♥♥ just up and jihadded me on the spot.

Admittedly, I was running towards him at the time, but perhaps there's something else I was doing wrong?

You just shoot down at them. Garcian has it by default, so you can test and practice it in the tutorial.

Update: Works like a charm! Distance is risky, but to show crackheads like them some good ol'
