Anyone down to make a succesor for project hospital?
Hello everyone,

I am in the early stages of conceptualizing a game inspired by Project Hospital and am looking for like-minded enthusiasts to join the development team. If you have a passion for game development and a love for simulation/management games, I would be excited to hear from you.

We haven't started the actual development yet, but I am eager to assemble a team to bring this idea to life. Whether you're a programmer, artist, designer, or have any other skills you think could contribute to the creation of a new hospital management game, your input could be invaluable.

For a more direct conversation, feel free to send me a DM on Steam, or reply to this thread if you prefer. Let's build something great together!

Go for it. There are a lot of single devs making games out there :)

why? this game has really anything important and if you want new stuff simply mod it in

I'd love to see more competition in these kinds of sims. In any case, I guess you can't complain about the devs trying to be cash-cows by making infinite MOD releases with the odd buggy gimmick here and there.

sure why not? I'll learn, i would love to help! HMU

Yes. I'm wanting to get into game development. And I love this game, so it gives a nice foundation to start from. And I find working with partners is a motivator.

Thank you guys! Hope this will come to fruition at some point. Project Hospital is great but there are still things left to improve that cannot be changed by modding. What are your ideas for a worthy successor?

We need to add eachother on some social media to get this started. Maybe a private discord server?

Having a way to engage with an active community of (prospective) players would be useful as well. Discord is good; is there a way to add private channels?

Honestly the things I want to be improved the most are some of the details. E.g. I'm about to fail a "have no untreated patients" challenge rn because one patient is strolling all around the hospital even though I told her to get hospitalized at the HDU. Eventually, she "gets tired of the wait and leaves"...teeth gnasher right there.
Or in the shock room/A&E you wouldn't methodically do one thing after the other on a patient without knowing what happened to them. That's why you have an entire team on standby, to do concurrent assessments of vital stats. And get a proper handover/briefing from the medics.
Having some narrative would actually be helpful, I just realized. That could be an entirely new feature. Would also reduce the frustrating instances of someone coming in with "pain" and taking a day and a half to diagnose. You know, stuff like patients telling you "Doctor, I've been having these awful recurring tummy aches for the past three days even though I haven't eaten anything unusual. My wife told me to come in when I was vomiting for two hours straight this morning."

What do you people think about the idea of Paradox getting this game?

I think that they would improve it and increase the lifespan of it and eventually making a sequel. Like the Prison Architect example were they expanded an already great game (I've been having it since alpha stages)

Btw something that could be improved in PH is that now you need to change the walls "pattern" on every side of the room moving the camera, while I would be happier if there was a way like in the sims where pressing shift it is applied on all sides of the room

Yes, some QoL features for building would be nice as well. But fixing things like docs being "on standby for critical patients" instead of giving a patient their direly needed nitrates would be a lot higher up on my list.

If you guys really want to, we can discuss this using discord (you can add and dm me, my username is hid00) or we can create groups here on steam.

My discord was hacked. Hope we can discuss this here. And also hope I can somehow get notified by steam of notices. :)

Any updates from anyone on this project? As for me, I'll be meeting with a retired pharmacist to discuss some medical care stuff this weekend.

No one has reached out to me yet. Anyone interested in collaborating can feel free to message me directly here on Steam.

How serious are you about this? Do you have any relevant experience?
