Collapsed Patient
Who is responsible for moving collapsed patients? I've had a rash of them and a bunch of pop-up messages complaining about them not being moved while my ER nurses play solitaire, very frustrating.

If they are undiagnosed patients, that would be the emergency department nurses. Undiagnosed collapses go to the trauma centre.

If they are diagnosed patients, that would be the ICU nurses. Diagnosed collapses go to the ICU.

As Bob says check the number of stretchers in the emergency department and/or ICU (the department management view shows a stretcher count), and that patient transport is enabled for the nurses (this is found on each nurse's staff card, as a check box).

Do you have any spare beds in the trauma centre and/or ICU?

I have the spare beds in the TC. But my night shift for the TC doesn't list any stretchers. The day shift does. Is this intended behavior? The stretchers are literally right behind them idling. Patient in this case is an undiagnosed meaning they go to the TC. The nurses aren't exclusively transport, but this wouldn't seem to matter since they are idle anyways. So, it's not an issue of overloaded staff, but rather seems they don't think they have a stretcher.

That seems like a bug.

You might have tried this already, but if not try picking up the stretchers during the night shift and putting them back down again.

I had 16 - yes, SIXTEEN !! - collapses during yesterday's game between the (game) hours of 20:00 and 07:00. I have 8 trauma bays, 12 observation bays with 8 nurses. 2 or 3 are dedicated to transport and 6 stretchers. Then last night, I had 5 more collapses between 07:33 and 12:44 pm with the last two dying about 20 mins after their collapse. Wednesday I had 12 collapses during the night phase. I don't know what else to do but think it's some bug. Way too many. Like, I'm about to quit playing for a while.

@Shizette,

Well, there is this, just scroll down to Collapses, if I didn't already place you there. Yes, the collapse rate is far too OP in my opinion, even for a New York City boy, that frequents hospitals. I'm going to try it a touch higher, and see what happens:

Oh, I forgot to mention that in the tweakables.xml, you won't have to search for it. It's right on top. :idglass::lunar2019grinningpig:
Thank you! I changed the rate. I won't be able to play until later, but will let you know. :)

Well, 9 collapses is better than 16 in less than 14 (game) hrs. sigh

Never mind - still STINKS. 12 one day, 14 the next and 15 the 3rd day. WTH

as someone who has been annoyed by this for quite some time (hey I like some collapse activity so I can jump in and take control) it's out of control in the base game. Used to be you didn't get any of that until you constructed and opened the observation ward...then they changed it and enabled collapses outside of having that operational. So, you'll still get quite a few collapses because there are quite a few symptoms across many diagnoses that can generate a collapse. a few that I went after outside of the tweakables file: exhaustion and dehydration.

Silly, you went the wrong way. Lowering the hours makes it more frequent.:lunar2019grinningpig:
I wondered...and asked my son if maybe I misunderstood. I'll try the other way. Thanks.

I've been lucky. I haven't seen a collapse until OB. In my recent new starts, that's when the action begins. I'm not saying they don't exist, just that I haven't seen them until OB.

Currently, I'm on day 9 (no collapses), and just started my first department (Cardiology). Kicking up Hospitalization, TC & OB is looming. Let the fun begin. :lunar2019grinningpig:

YAY! Finally got my collapses down to 1 or 2 in a 24 hr period. WOOT! I tweeked to 48/60. Thanks so much for all your help!!

Glad to hear it.:morphine::lunar2019grinningpig:

It certainly loses it's dramatic effect when you have 9-16 within 24 hours. Then it's like "There goes another one" 2-6 is doable for me, then it has that "Surprise" feeling.

lol yes. this.

sorry hi cant work out how the numbers work, ie 48/60 - what do the both numbers mean - ie does that ratio mean 48 collaspes in 60 days. i'm just trying to get my head around them

also dirty floors are doing my head in and the amount of janitors required is insane, i've seen this in the tweakables

-<GameDBTweakableInt ID="TWEAKABLE_DIRTY_FLOOR_LEVEL">

<Value>150</Value>

so to make this modifier less of a factor, should this be increased?

I can't answer for the Janitor tweaks, because I've never had an issue with them.

The tweak in the Collapse is as written. In Shizette's case, this means Minimal repeat is 48 hours, and the Maximum repeat is 60 hours. Mine is not set that high.

The default is 3/6, but I kept increasing it until I got what I though is an acceptable level of collapses without being too OP, so my current setting is 15/30. So far, in the past 4 game days, I got from 2 to 7 collapses a day. Far better than it was.

Maybe that's what it's supposed to mean, minimal repeats, but I get 1 - 5 collapses per day. However, 2 or 3 might come from the same patient. If the game actually went off my tweekable, I shouldn't get any for two days straight and I've never gone 24 in game hours without a collapse.
