Infectious Disease Department Issue
Why can my infectious disease department NOT use PCR-sampling or RT-PCR-sampling. I have a hematology lab at the department as well as one at the medical laboratories department.

Yes, the patients are hospitalised in the infectious disease department.

To remedy the above I usually send the patient to a different department (i.e. general surgery).

But, I would like the issue sorted or at least answered.

Does the lab have the required equipment? Not playing right now. Shall check tomorrow to see if I can assist.

Hopefully it's just a missing equipment.
Could be than labs personnel are set to serve only clinic patients. Check personnel.
Make sure you have a waiting room for the lab.

I do have:
1. the correct equipment (glassware + thermal cycler) and (RIA)
2. Personnel is set on both clinic and bed patients
3. a waiting room for this department.

also noticed I cannot prescribe serologic sampling and ELISA Sampling.

when you have time, please assist.

strangely, the hematology does do CBC sampling

sry I didn't clearify: waiting room for labs and radios.
Oh you have for the lab and radio departements .. ok so.. maybe it's departement specific and that's it.. I dont know much my self...
I've seen many topics about the Infectious Decease issue.. maybe a thing too.

Are you using the prefabs or your own?

I just checked my own game and i have no issues with my infectious disease departments related to yours. Infection disease clinic or hospital are able to do the tests you mention in your post and other comment.

Are you using mods? Or have you changed any of your game files?

It seems to be a mod. I removed all the mods, started a new game. And now it is sorted.

Not sure which mod though, since I had a few.

90% sure its bedside examinations by butch, he changed the medical lab exam rules.

Its Bedside examinations 110%, i had a look through the mods exam xml file and i edited it so that all departments can do pcr and rt-pcr. if you want me to tell you then lmk even tho this thread is 3 years old 0_o

watch out for any mods made by "Butch;" that modder is altering files and gameplay mechs that are out of the mods description. I personally had to revert to a different save because of his collapses mod screwing with all sorts of unrelated gameplay.

Absolutley, his mods are quite usefull I guess but are very easy to do yourself after a little look in the xml files. Personally i would not use his mods for the reason you said about stuff being changed that he didn't mention in his descriptions. I just need to figure out how he did Bedside Exams so i can do it myself so i can get rid of his stupid mod thats messing with Lab tests.
