Patients Standing Around Idle
I have several patients who are standing around idle outside of my doctor's offices or in empty rooms. They're not checking in to see the doctors or trying to sit in the waiting room. If I click the button to send them away, they'll leave.

The benches are from a mod? The one next to reception is used and I think this is a regular one. Guess those mod benches are just for decoration and not functional.

Hi, the benches are from the official set of assets (DLC Hospital Services). @BamaMedic would you please share a similar screenshot but this time captured in Management mode (F7)? We would like to check if the issue is not caused by the zonation mistake ;-).

Here is a zoning screenshot of just the ortho zoning. However, it is happening in the emergency area as well.

Here is one of the emergency area zoning. The empty room at the top of the first screenshot where people are just idle standing is not zoned at all.

Anything?

Are those patients waiting for reception triage by any chance ?

i notice the "queue machine" and "info TV" associated with them show zero "0" waiting. This is in both departments that you are showing. That does not seem correct.

The top picture is at 22:16 hours which is your night shift.

The bottom pictures in management mode are at 19:17 hours which is your day shift.

Do all of the providers show up as expected for both shifts? Are they hanging out somewhere else in your hospital?

Thinking the same, they are probably not finding a spot to stand on in reception.

Include those benches to the reception area. You can block the sides of the desks next to the chair with a flower or a bench so that patients don't stand in the staff area, or mark the area behind the desks as staff only.

Hello BamaMedic, I am sorry for my late response. Thank you for the management mode print screens, I've checked them very carefully but I didn’t observe any zone overlaps, layout problems, or any mistake possibly causing such a state. In addition, I noticed that insurance companies are sending quite a lot of patients to your hospital. It seems unusual for a small hospital with only one specialized dept. May I ask if there are some mods involved? Would you please upload the save and log file to our forum [projecthospital.forumotion.com], share a google doc link, or send us by any other means so we can investigate further?

I came here having the same problem. Lots of patients would show up at the beginning of any new day, just standing around doing nothing, with everything on their patient card greyed out. I could get them out of their "locked state" by changing them to another department and then right back. However, they were all being flagged as "complicated diagnosis" afterwards without their doc even doing a simple consultation (no matter if it was a probie or a specialist) and I had to assign them all the basic examinations manually to get the routine going again.

Anyway, earlier I had moved my surgery department one floor up and when deleting the old diagnosis room, there was still a patient on the examination bed that now seemed stuck because I deleted the room mid procedure I guess. So I changed him to another department and as soon as he was picked up with a stretcher, I suddenly got all loads of alerts about long waiting for examinations and operations. They all kinda seemed stuck in line behind sleeping beauty. Mind you, he was in that room for at least 3 or 4 ingame days before I noticed.

After all the queued up patients were processed and everything went back to normal, the "idle zombies" had diasppeared. Now whenever I open a new department, I get them there sometimes, but it's only 1 or 2 compared to 10-20 before, and they don't return every days.

So, this might just be me rambling, but maybe it helps somebody else with that problem, and I didn't find a newer thread on the topic.

Side note: I am using mods that allow for more insurance companies (and thus more patients) as well as more deparments, however I've been using that setup for quite a while and played many games like this without encountering the issue before.

/nevermind, they were back at full force the next day. Guess I'll have to find another solution.

For me it was like a scattered on the map line to triage. Hire more recpetionists, should solve the issue. or just manually send them to departments, then back to emergency and treat them manually
