Emergeny Dept overwhelmed with patients
I have an E.D. on the ground floor, that is currently overwhelmed with patients, many of whom leave due to excessive waiting times, I have build 4 brand new E.D. Doctor's offices on the 3rd floor to expand the dept and hopefully end the problem, but i still have patients waiting on ground floor with doctors idle on the 3rd. Please help :)

The problem isn't just the number of doctors offices in the ED alone, but also the 'supporting' departments like Radiology and the labs. Check if they are overwhelmed too, because they are usually the bottleneck. I try to scale it that way that there is never a maximum backlog of 5 patients in the management view.

I've never had the need for more then 10 doctors offices in the ED to handle approximate 200 patients per day (counting walk-in/hospitalized). And my ED walk-in clinic is sort of inefficient, because it is staffed with 50% interns and only 1x 5* and 1x 4* doctor.

Maybe I am wrong but I think that even if you have several waiting rooms, they are working as one. So, when a doctor calls a patient, it does not matter if the next patient is waiting on another floor, thus your doctors could wait a long time before a patient come to their office. A solution is to have all your ED on a same floor ; could be your 3rd floor, but then be carefull of distance to radiology and labs.

On their 12 hours shifts, doctors could receive 6 to 10 patients, as they also will want to eat and go to the toilet. So, for my part, I usually have some 20 doctors for 200 patients a day ; as I monitor all my patients, I can also skip some tests and treatment to go faster, but it becomes less and less easy the more departments are open (they won't have a heart attack if cardiology is not open).

There is also the possibility for you if you have other departements open to adapt the parameters in the tweakable file to have more patients going directly to other departments waiting rooms : in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Project Hospital\ProjectHospital_Data\StreamingAssets\Database. You can edit and change in the file Tweakables : <GameDBTweakableInt ID="CLINIC_REFERRAL_PATIENTS_PERCENT"> <Value>50</Value> </GameDBTweakableInt> ; the higher the value, the less you will have patients in ED waiting room.
