I'll build two ORs each for general surgery, cardiology and traumatology, one for ortho and one spare. I'm not going to open neurology in this hospital but I do have internal medicine open, which doesn't use ORs at all. At the moment, surgery and IM are running and 2 ORs work very smoothly.
The eight ORs may not all be in use all the time, I could manage with less, but when three ambulances suddenly arrive with some really unstable cardio or trauma patients at the same time as a crash event the extra capacity is nice to have! Each department will have enough staff to be able to use all their assigned ORs, day and night, and it's possible cardio or trauma may get a third dayshift team.
