Updates
While the work on new content is in progress, we are not losing our interest in improving Project Hospital gameplay. Due to community labor, the steam discussion became a major source of feedback, interesting ideas, and useful tips. Although finishing some improvement takes its time, we are doing our best to bring you the finest possible gaming experience.

DLCs - 2020
We also aim to add more content this year - Some of you already guessed some details of coming DLC and the rest who don't will learn soon. Here are some examples what we have in mind:
  • New departments
  • Helicopters
  • Wheelchairs
  • Visitors
  • Staff training
  • …and much more!

At the height of the epidemic in Wuhan, China built the 1,000-bed HuoShenShan Hospital (meaning "Mount Vulcan") in just two weeks. The hospital, which had mobile housing, complete isolation facilities and no outpatient department, was then taken over by the army to treat patients with severe Covid-19 symptoms who had been transferred from other hospitals. I could build a hospital like that in the game, but the outbreak wasn't bad enough to simulate a Resident Evil scenario. Have you considered making it more difficult?
I think that you can modify the files so that more DID patients arrive.

As a regular visitor of hospitals (I am being worked up for a kidney transplant for later in the year - this game is probably a little too close to home at the moment, but I love it!) one of the things I really want to see is the addition of phlebotomy / blood test centres. It's great that patients visit another room, however, very odd for that to be the actually science lab, for them to be given the results and for them to have to go back to their Doctor.

I know it's extra steps, but for realism I would love a separate blood test facility centre - with a porter tasked with sending the bloods to the lab for analysis, then with the results being sent automatically via their computer network to the Doctor ready for the follow up appointment.

It doesn't have to be a central blood test facility either. Clinics I attend do bloods on clinic, along with weight / blood pressure / height / urine. Again, bloods would be sent to the lab via porters. Most hospitals have a central plebotomy as well as clinics doing test.

As I said, love the game. But the blood test process flow for me would benefit from a more realistic take that going to a scientist in a lab for the test and the results.

In the first versions of the game every department had its own STAT lab that processed every lab procedure of the department. Later those labs were dropped and the lab department was implemented.

I think it's possible to mod those departmental STAT labs back into the game. One could limit the staff in those department to the 'clinic patients' role only and place to labs right near the doctors offices.

Which would be a good thing to do bread and butter diagnoses like blood sugar, blood in urine, some pH-tests, quick drug screen and whatnot. Would also be a good idea to implement those to the departments so that the department's waiting rooms are used instead of having the need to build extra waiting rooms and toilets in laboratory dept.

Dear developer,

First of all, I really love your game, thank you for all your effort and time you put into it!

Here comes ;)....
* I would really love to see more furniture, items and decorations, and it would be nice if they affect/influence the happiness of the staff and patients. We have so little items for waiting rooms, I would like to make then look more interesting and beautiful.
* Would it also be possible to have shared waiting rooms, with a tab in which you can selects which departments can share that room?

Thank you for reading my post! I look forward to the next DLC and additions.

Kind regards,

Athena

There are mods that add more furniture and decorations to the game. I agree with you that furniture should affect the patients/staff happiness, but why stop there, why not add floors to that list. One of the differences between a newly created clinic and a well established hospital is the flooring. For example wooden floors should make patients/staff happier than just ordinary tiles and because wooden floors are more preferable it should cost more as well

Personally I'm not a fan of tying a purely aesthetic feature into gameplay mechanics. I could see shelling out for advanced life support and beds improving patient outcomes but I would much rather be able to design rooms according to preference than be railroaded into using specific floors or couches because they're the "best".

Update roadmap
jasonycin 5 kwietnia 2021 o 9:02
I am coming again after multiple months. I'd really like to hint again at updating the roadmap, which is now over a year old. Just the affirmation of knowing this game is still supported and that we can look forward to more DLC down the road is satisfactory.

From a recent thread:

Hi, yes, the original roadmap has been completed by major updates and the DLC releases in 2019 and 2020, so it's true that there aren't currently any specific plans for further DLCs. But as Project Hospital is our first creation under the Oxymoron Games brand, we deeply care about it and we're still actively supporting Project Hospital with more refinements, polishing, and bug-fixing.

Maybe that means project hospital 2 is in the pipes?

Without going as far as a Project Hospital 2, there are big improvements that would make me very happy :

- In construction mode, be able to make curves with the walls. Here, everything is at a right angle. To be able to also make curves with the roads.
- More building elements (new types of windows and doors, new wall textures ...).
- A building plot larger than 96x96, when you want to build a very large hospital, the 96x96 is too small.
- Parking for visitors and patients cars.
- Facilitate the construction of hospitals on several levels. Here, if we want to make a hospital with one or more buildings with different floors, we often have elevator problems.
- See the outdoor climate vary (good weather, rain, snow ...).

Afterwards, a Project Hospital 2 with more realistic graphics (like in a Sim City or a Cities Skyline) would be nice, but much more difficult for developers to develop. I can understand that they remain on the current model.

The game is great in an educational way. If I were to change/add something, it would be smaller stuff like having patients come for vaccination/blood donations. organ harvesting in pathology, better waiting mechanisms (send persons home while lab tests are running), outpatients for GP/radiology or labs. Toxicology department. Rehabilitation and yes, parking space and whether are some good suggestions, too. I would not like a sequel just because of better grafics. Sometimes, 2D is good enough while the game unfolds around the mechanics, not the visuals.
