But look at it this way - mistakes are costly in real life, so it's good that a "simulator" shows that. ;)
Im pretty sure they have planning tools in real life too. In fact, I know they do ;)
Its good to pay for your mistakes, but it should be mistakes cause by players, and not the game. Not having any planning tool in a building game is a bit out there
I still would love some more severe punishments for wrong diagnosis and treatment tho, as well as a posibillity to get sued if someone died or got crippled in such cases. Even if you've done everything right on your part. And of course the ability to defend yourself, lawyers and so on.
Ideally if we could place objects in a planning mode which showed their dependencies/direction people will use them from this would be incredibly helpful!
I've spent quite a bit of time in sandbox just experimenting with different layouts as was finding it too costly to keep building and deleting for real haha.
Its the game's mistake in the sense that you cant be expected to do a good job without the proper tools. I work as a Wildfire Observer. If my boss doesnt provide me with binoculars, its not my fault if I miss some fires. Get it ?
But if I get the Binoculars, and then I miss some fires, its entirely my mistakes.
The point of the game is to build a building, but it doesnt provide any planning tool. The mistakes the players are going to make are because of lack of resources, and not because of genuine mistakes.
But if the players are provided with planning tools, and then make mistakes, its entirely their fault.
