Other hospital alternative game would be Two Point Hospital which is very childish, fantasy, not true symptoms diseases game with "light bulb head patients disease" etc. Tried that on free weekend and could not play that game because of absurdity and nonsense.
There are other tycoon games, shop mall, prison, gamedev, software tycoon. It is up to you what you are interested in and what is more fun. You can buy and play different tycoon games.
This game can teach you about hospital, its different departments, and real diseases and symptoms around 500. It is serious and challenging and it can be hard to make money in this game.
For me the most rewarding and fun is sandbox mode where you start from beginning with opening different clinics and treating first few patients a day, and then you receive different goals to reach from insurance companies.
My first hospital went bankrupt because I took a loan and tried to buy all kinds of diagnostics rooms X Ray, CT, MRI, ANGIO, and all labs at the beginning, also I did not have enough cleaners and it was dirty and I lost prestige and insurance companies decreased amount of patients, lowered payments for treatments.
You can even take control of Doctor and treat the patients yourself or help a doctor. More in depth Doctor mode is comming soon in a free DLC.
I recommend sandbox where you start from scratch instead of campaign where there are already hundreds of staff and all kinds of rooms and it is hard to find out what is happening.
Ok that sounds interesting and also as a long-term motivation what I'm looking for. The cheaper price compared to TPH is also convincing.
