Version 1.1: Stat Lab obsolete?

Hi,

I continued a savegame I started before version 1.1 where I have several stat labs. With 1.1 there are new labs in the laboratories department. I noticed that the other departments don't have an option for building a stat lab any more.
Are the stat labs now obsolete and can I remove them, because the patients will go to the laboratories department now? At the moment patients go to the stat labs and the lab department, so I'm not sure what to do.

The stat lab is for that department only. The lab department is for all departments. I think your patients will prefer the stat lab if they are from that department. If my gues is correct you don't have to remove your stat lab.

However as you can't build new one you propably need to build the new labs what so ever. So you could do with only the new labs. Just make sure you have a big enough waiting room and enough staff in your new labs. Part of the old labs you can use to build the new labs, but not everything. You should be able to place your staff in the new department.

So it's up to your own preference.

Yes - the StatLabs are obsolete now. I have changed two of them (one in the EM area around the EM clinic and observation ward and one in the multi-department clinic area) to the Hematology labs because I have the feeling hematology is the most used lab profession. All other labs I have cosolidated into one microbiology lab and one histology lab that serve the whole hospital.
