Comment on labs
I have a suggestion regaurding labs. Usually labs like a cbc, throat swab, urninalysis, fatuige panel, liver panel, and so on are usually routine labs and don't take long. a cbc and throat swab can take up to 10 minutes depending on what is qued before it. Furthermore, a microbal culture can be as simple as a gram stain which takes at most 5 minutes to perform and 15 minutes to prepare the slides. Basically a gram stain is to test whether the batctium is gram negitive or gram positive. This test usually lads to the next test which is a test to see which antibiotic the bactium is compatible with. Sometimes, in a paitint like mine they will take a blood same and test to see if the antiboitic has any interactions with the paitents medications. Also lab priorties in an emergancy room are based on triage code, code green which means a 4 hour + wait down to code blue which is basically DOA or a cardaic event. When I went into the emergancy room after vomiting a huge amount of bright red blood and had a low iron and hemract count I given a code red desgination which meant they would see me in 10 minutes or less which is just above code blue. I was then given an emergancy endoscopy later that day. My point of all of this information is that labs take way too long and that triage needs to effect labs as well as lab times need to be shortened based on what the doctor or player orders. I am sorry about all of the mispellings.

Ive looked through all the exam and procedure xml and havent seen any way of decreasing the time it takes to complete labs. My hospital has something like 89 labs cued and my lab techs which i have 10 each cant keep up and people are constantly leaving for waiting days for 1 lab.

so do I have to use the default number of paitents?

No but if you modify you insurance.xml to increase the total patients i would recoommend playing on the largest map and dedicating an entire floor to just rad and lab. I have 10 techs per lab room and am struggling with 130 patients

Hi, actually you can easily modify the lab testing:
<RequiredEquipment> <Tag>stat_lab_exam</Tag> <DurationHours>0.1</DurationHours> <BlocksSpecialist>true</BlocksSpecialist> </RequiredEquipment> <RequiredEquipment> <Tag>pcr</Tag> <DurationHours>0.1</DurationHours> <BlocksSpecialist>false</BlocksSpecialist> </RequiredEquipment> <RequiredEquipment> <Tag>biohazard_trash</Tag> <DurationHours>0.1</DurationHours> <BlocksSpecialist>true</BlocksSpecialist> </RequiredEquipment> <RequiredEquipment> <Tag>clean_hands</Tag> <DurationHours>0.1</DurationHours> <BlocksSpecialist>true</BlocksSpecialist> </RequiredEquipment>

Each of "requiredEquipment" is one testing step ... you can remove it, or set the duration to lower number 0.05 ... etc...

Just wondering where is this file located? I can't find it.

@Roman, i completely agree this is an option, but, i believe it is bugged. I set mine to .01 duration for all lab exams and noticed that while my techs where extremely fast they also stopped doing exams. I changed it on my last hospital hoping to help but ended up with 96 lab exams is que for histology. Figured I needed more lab techs hired up to 20 in each room, no luck. Started another hospital same issue. Went in and edited it back to .1 and changed the blockspecialist to false and boom, everyone works and we pushed through the backlog.

So while it should work, in my experience it doesnt unless, similarly to how your max hospital can be 10 floors and 11 beyond is bugged, maybe this is maxed at a speed like .05?

@Admiral Fisher, the file is located in the examinations.xml file inside the procedures folder. I would just edit the file to make the "blockspecialist" false, seems like a better fix and my staff still see patients.

Hi, yes it's true, I didn't know ... but when the time is shorter then the animation, it got stuck.
So best way how to make it shorter is just remove steps.
