How do shared rooms work?

Hello,

I am building a new hospital (1.1), and i am trying to share restrooms.
I build the restrooms from the emergency room prefab, and on ER, it shows under shared rooms: Restroom: 2
However, under the other departments this is 0, even when i click the restroom under that department (To assign), and then assign the existing restroom to their department as well.

So how does this work? (Same for common room btw)

If it’s the same room but a different department you want you need to either delete the room from F7 or drag a Corridor into the room so you can change the department that way if you mean how does that work for if you don’t have a said room in a department well the shared room closest would most likely be chosen and that is fine

I think that was the case for the beta but I have this same question now that the full game is out.
Do you somehow have to mark a room to be able to be used by another department or is it automatic ? Or is that still not in the game ?

common rooms are used for every employe whether they are from the same department or not as long they are in the same floor. employes wont use common rooms from another department if they are placed in different floors
