Level of detail (Extremely pixelated
So I know that the game is a sort of old school art style, which I love, but when I boot the game with max settings (or even the lowest) the game is still extremely pixelated, as in hard to actually see whats going on, and when I see videos and screenshots it looks completely different. Is that only me?

The game is using "pixel art sprite based"
Not the old school "sprite based"

I know, it's not about the art-style (wish I could post screenshots here >_<) but when you look at the screenshots you see clearly defined sprites, however, when you look at both me and my wifes computer (running optimal resolution and in my case highest settings possible) the sprites look like a vastly lower quality and often it's hard to make out if its wood or ore you are picking up.

I'm wondering if other experience the same, and if someone have a potentiel fix for it

I never seen a single modern game with sprites that looks better than old sprite games. Devs always try to imitate, but dont know much of what old games were so great about visually.

All old games with sprites were due to limitations and nobody was trying to make it pixelated. Now devs gimp themselves so much with pixelation it ends up mediocre on modern monitors.

Seems about right for the adventure map. As you know Manual Combat has more detailed artwork

You can zoom out with a mouse wheel or Page Down button.

I hate to tell you but it sounds like you don't actually like pixel art.

I've always had trouble with the graphics on this game. There is not enough contrast between the different elements. A little too pixelated for my tastes. I still come back to try it now and then like I am right now, going to try with my new 34" monitor--better or worse?

Actually my new monitor makes quite the difference. Much better colour helps with the contrast a lot and looks better all around. I still find it too pixelated but its definitely playable for me now

Bought the game because I'm a fan of such games, but can't make myself even try it out because of the graphics - pixel art discomfort for the eyes.
