Should i play the game?

So its my turn to ask complete strangers who dont know me advices on what i ll find fun.
If HOMM 4 is my favorite(by far) in the series(i started from homm 2) - should i give this game a try?

I only ever played HoMM 4 and i already got over 100 hours into this game. Make of that what you will.

Heroes don't directly fight like 4 - but I definitely still suggest it, it's very fun

Any fan of Heroes of Might & Magic should give this game a try imo. Its wonderful :)

SoC is better than HOMM ever was IMHO. It fixes so many dumb things HOMM did while compromising on nothing in the core gameplay. SoC is a GOAT remake.

No idea about your topic, but it is pleasing, more than pleasing, to find another person whose favorite HoMM is the IV. I also started from 2.
If you didn't already, try the King's Bounty games, pretty amazing experience!

Game is very different from HoMM series. Stacks are limited, and amount of stacks is also limited by hero skill. More like Kings Bounty series. Castle building is also quite weak compared to HoMM series. Campaign maps are very detailed, but you only get 16 of them (4 for each faction). Artifacts and skills are less interesting than homm. Magic is completely different.
So, all in all - very different game with very different design principles at its core. I did not like it in EA, but now I'm giving it 2nd chance. So far my criticism stays. But as you can see, for some those are ups, not downs. So maybe watch a stream to get a better picture?

Got probably hundreds of hours in HoMM4 in total myself

I've clocked out a bit over 300 hours for this game before I took a break about a month or so ago

Yeap i played all of them! HOMM 2 as a kid was my childhood:))

The map is HoMM like. The combat interface is more Eador like.
If you enjoyed both it should be OK. Story wise it doesn't come close to HoMM while better than Eador.

What is your personal opinion on Song of Conquest story?

I'm really enjoying it, completely diferent factions, great magic system, decent campaigns... I recommend it.

I mean if you like these type of games its hard to imagion it not being worth it considering the lowly cost of 27$.. rediculously cheap.
