Pixel Graphics
Hi everyone, I absolutely adore this game but can no longer play due to the pixel graphics. I know everyone seems to adore this, and it's just me, but I honestly can't differentiate items on the map due to the high level of pixellation. Does anyone know a fix to make it a bit easier on the eye please? Or do any of the dlc's help? Many thanks in advance.

Press alt to show everything clickable, hover mouse on item to show its name, that's all I got there.

Like he said, holding ALT helps alot.

I personally think they put slightly too many decorations on the overworld AND in the battle maps. Or, at least I feel they should make it easier to differentiate the maps themselves and the units/buildings/treasures. Every other game in this genre tends to make sure things stand out much easier... but not this game.

I sure hope someday they fix this, but it is doubtful.

Ok thank you both for your reply. I think there's a new Heroes of Might & Magic coming out soon so I'll wait for that!

soon is relative, early acces starts in like 2 months, polish will take another few months "at last", if you want to play a "finished game" and not an "early acces game", you will have to wait until the end of the year, being said there is no problem to see eveyrthing on the map with the highlighter button, it is normal you can miss something on a big filled map, that does not have anything to do with it being pixel

LMAO, what a troll post. This pixel art is miles better and readable than this mobile s..ty Olden Era game.

I agree with the OP here. I don't think its a troll post at all, its a perfectly reasonable observation. I just started this game, and ive done over 7 hours. Everything about this game seems really good, the variety, the progression, spells, stacks, its all there, the obvious comparison to HOMM 1-7 (HOMM 2 was my fav), but, but, but, BUT, the graphics !!! are awful. In fact they're not as good as HOMM2 from 30 years ago. I'm old enough to remember when pixel graphics was as good as it got. But surely not now, cute, retro, are all regular descriptions, but you cant see what your looking at. They only needed a tiny bit more resolution to be passable, but as it stands I cant do it any more, no matter how good the rest of it is. Yes i saw the post from one of the devs, saying it was their choice, and yes it was their choice, its their game they can make it how they want it. I just think that fewer people will play it, or perhaps play it, and then drop it sooner than they would have. Such a shame.
Agreed, the pixel resolution is just waaay to aggressive to to stick with over other options once I'm done with the story.,
I play the game from time to time, but yeah. I agree the graphics and low framerate are a big turnoff that makes me put the game down every now and then.

Tbh the low framerate is probably worse than the graphics.

actually it is easier to miss stuff on a 3d map because of rotations.... so it is very difficult to miss stuff on a 2D map, esp. if you highlight... of course you have to look out for it...
dont know about framerate but game runs very smooth on my pc

I am not talking about the game running poorly. I am talking about the combat unit litteraly have programmed maybe 3-5 frames in their attack.
Agree with the OP and Zippy here on the pixel graphics issue. Pixel is just a bad choice that also takes away from immersion. And if you must do pixel, at least do high resolution, so simple objects are discriminable. I played the original HOMMs too and I agree that their graphics seemed better, probably because our monitors were 6 times lower resolution haah ^^
Guys just by chance. What is your screen resolution?

The graphics, no matter how nice they may look, should be improved to make them more readable, especially when there’s a clutter of objects or units during combat. The key is that they must be readable! No one is talking about pretty or ugly art here, it’s all about legibility.

but it's readable, for the most part, unlike, say, Disciples 2 and some other games I could mention. Of course, much boils down to resolution and other settings.
