Again, think about if a fantasy game set in a fantasy world with no real world countries, had an Orcish unit that was called a Greek. Like wtf does that mean?
You probably dont know this... but Barya used to be called Doneria lmao.
Even if there was a unit called greeks i wouldnt care. why do you keep bringing up orcs?
It's just a really weird name bc it's the name of a real world kingdom. I know it is the name of the ruling dynasty, the kingdom is named after them, I say so in the OP, but it doesn't make it any less weird. It's just odd.
It's immersion breaking, like, is the implication that the Sassanids exist in this world too, or did both people just coincidentally get the same name? And besides, why would this be the name of the upgraded form? It implies that Sassanid means something stronger/more elite than an ordinary assassin.
In the campaign they reference that there is a Sassanid people, which just makes it even weirder of a choice, bc now its the name of this fictional people, but also the name of a real world people.
Again, imagine if a unit was called a Greek, but it has absolutely nothing to do with Greeks and it's actually just a fictional race of fantasy people that are just called that for no reason.
Whenever I'd see any character say Greek I'd immediately think of actual Greece/Greeks not the fictional fantasy humanoids who just coincidentally have the same name.
This is what's happening to me whenever I see their name, it just takes me completely out and breaks my immersion and I can't find a single reason as to why they'd pick this as their name?
Sassanids have nothing to do with assassins, the two words are separated by almost a thousand years, so why would they use this as their name???
