This is one of the few games I really enjoy every faction though.
I really thought I wouldn't like Barya (steampunk) and Arleon (seemed vanilla). After playing each team they all feel great. Blue magic is probably my favorite and Arleon has a lot of options.
Then it's Barya which I've actually played the least out of all factions, funnily enough. Anyways, the Hellroars are just something else man, the biggest dopamine hits in the whole game especially when paired with some of the spells
Barony of Loth is weird in this dual aspect of living non living and campaign was kinda tedious in sense you had to spend most missions with living units only. (But then with Arleon mixed-in which is great as you can't do it in normal game... Yet?)
Actually I like this mixed faction themes in SoC a lot and I like it about Loth but at the same time I didn't really get feel for them, maybe thanks to the campaign restrictions as well. They seem very strong (but then every faction does, depends on circumstances of each battle honestly)
I spend most time trying to get throu Rana campaign and got handle on their faction probably most so far, they seem strongest late game with lots of fun putting mines with strong mage everywhere but weaker early game.
I have fun with Barya even tho they were least sympathetic to me from get go, I didn't like their design but damn dreads are really strong early game and wtih shoot and pike mid game as well. Canons were a little disappointing tho. Super strong. Every other round. Not sure I can fire my second shot in third or fourth round.
Gotta see how I can handle them in campaign tho.
