player color palettes other than two blues and two greens
In games with multiple players, the two blue and two green color palettes are not easy to distinguish, especially if they are also of the same race (and even more so if ai are also sharing the same random name). I was thinking what other colors might better stand out given the other colors in the game already (including environmental). Dropping one blue and one green for a hot pink/magenta color palette and a white/off-white color palette feel like improvements to me.

Anybody feel like another color palette could fit in nicely in place of two blues and two greens?

The simplest option IMO would be to just use distinctly different colors, such as Red, Blue, Green, Orange, Yellow, Pink, White, & Purple, and just making sure that each color is of a distinctly different shade so that it's easy to tell them apart. This would also help with people ho happen to be partially colorblind to some degree (I myself am slightly colorblind and I have a very hard time distinguishing between very similar colors like dark green & brown). With how this game is so reminiscent of HoM&M III, I don't see how borrowing the same method of distinguishing between different players would be that big of a deal.

interestingly, I was playing a custom community map just now and noticed two of the eight players were pink and black. Surprised by that I selected a new, official 8 player map, and it retained the lobby colors of the custom lobby. So right now I have a game in "hateful 8" or whatever its called, and my units all have a pink color palette and another player has black palette units. If I start a new, empty lobby and freshly select the same map, it goes back to having the two greens and two blues.
