Do you plan release on Nintendo Switch?
I'm solely a NSW gamer, no PC. It would be nice to play the game on Nintendo Switch!

First of all we want to make sure that our game is playable the way we want it and supported on Gamepad, after that we will have to see and test different consoles to see what feels good and what doesn't feel just right.

So the boring answer is that we don't know just yet and that time will have to tell.
I'd double dip if I could get a 2nd copy for switch

I own it on GoG, but as I do with majority of good games I purchase them immediately on the Switch once they show up, because the ability to play seemlessly and in handheld is simply worth it. I did so with Factorio for instance, and spent 10x as much time in it on my Switch than on my PC. And, no, Steam Deck is not as good. Many disadvantages, to start with the battery life.

Anyway, I play mostly on both: my PC and on the Switch, but I play more often on the Switch due to obvious reasons. I also own an Xbox One, but that's mostly to be able to play Midnight Club L.A. and Skate series, which are not available anywhere else, so in general I don't care about that console too much, cause it's stuck to my TV just as my PC is stuck to my desk. Simply not too convenient. The Switch is the only console that meets all my expectations, JUST THAT IT LACKS THE FREAKING GOOD GAMES!

For instance Nintendo Switch still lacks any good RTS games like Age of Empires, some good open world arcade racing like the NFSU2 and ESPECIALLY the HoMM-like games, so people would go mad for this one, for sure.

It's surprising how many genres or types of games are actually missing from the Switch, that used to be available on the older Nintendo systems, I don't even. It's simply free money for you guys. You already have the game. Porting it shouldn't be problematic, should it?

May I ask for any updates on that matter?

Thank you a lot in advance and in general for the game. It's brilliant.

Personally, i don't see any downsides, besides weight and surface heat. You can't compare battery life as easely as that. There are a whole number of things to consider, like the game itself, game settings, desired performance, power settings, battery capacity, etc.
There's not way, to adjust graphics or power settings on a Switch (unless it's hacked) but on a Deck you easely can, because it's just a handheld PC. You can go full send with the graphics and play for like an hour and a half or optimize them for 3-4 hours.
But even between Switches, battery life can vary greatly, depending on wether you have the TegraX1/"Erista" version from 2017-2019 or the much more efficient TegraX1+ /"Mariko" revision of the chip that powers the little guy. In Breath of the Wild, you'd typically see around 1.5-2 hours longer battery life on a Switch that from the outside doesn't look any different, than the earlier models (unless it's the OLED one, they all have the Mariko-revision).

Until a dev chimes in and gives a clear answer, i can at least keep your hopes up in the meantime. Since this thread's been made, Songs of Conquest has added a power-saving mode (dynamic FPS based on how much is going on on-screen) designed for mobile/handheld devices specifically to prolong battery life as well as adding proper controller support (apparently even with native PS-controller support). I might just give it a go on my Deck, just to see how the controls feel.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a Switch port at this rate, sometime after this game properly launched. Lavapotion's publisher has some experience with Switch launches as well.

Ha, but that's exactly what I mean. Steam Deck is a handheld PC, with all advantages (like adjustable graphics) and downsides (like adjustable graphics). Let me explain. I like to use my PC when I have some time to adjust the settings of the game (and I love the fact that PC games are that flexible) to make it the best experience on my average GPU, especially to play PC exclusive games or the ones that simply aren't available on the Switch, or if I for some reason feel like sitting in front of my desk.

However, sometimes I feel lazy, you see. I want something seemless, grab the Nintendo Switch, lie down on the couch, simply turn it on and start playing in no-time, not thinking about everything around it, and knowing that it gives me a minimum play time of 5 hours, so that I don't even have to worry about anything, just start playing and that's it. And then pause it, turn it off, take a break, then turn it back on and get back there in no time.

And this is exactly what Steam Deck is not. I realize it's a brilliant piece of hardware, allowing me to play all the PC games, or even use some software or emulators, everything that the limited NS does not allow. It offers much more. And I realize that it allows you to set the game up the way that you somehow pump it up to 5 hours play time. But this is not the experience I have in my mind when thinking about the handheld console.

So, yeah, fully agreed, but also not agreed :).

And thank you for the good news, I wasn't aware of those milestones.

BTW yeah, I'm aware that more demanding titles limit it to 3 hours, but at the same time demanding titles on the Steam Deck limit it to like 1 hour. It's still less, even when you optimize it. The revisioned HAC-001-(01) never disappointed me with that anyway. But you're correct with that that maybe it's not always as cool as I'm describing it, totally agree.

Release the game on xbox or switch!!
don't even own an Xbox, but the way I see it the more people who can get access to the game the better. although can imagine they're waiting until after the game releases on PC before planning anything else since porting to other platforms can be big and time-consuming. you've got to take into account the demand for it too.

Time consuming? It's not 1993 anymore bro.

All they have to do is run "build --apk" instead of "build --exe" and Unity does all the job for them. So honestly I have no idea why they don't want my money for little to no effort.

Gamepad support? How complicated could it be to translate keyboard arrow up to gamepad arrow up? Honestly. I'm really surprised that game devs ♥♥♥♥ on us so much.

Especially as there is no such game on the Switch and the demand is mad.

Even Xbox lacks any HoMM-like games...
Any idea yet around what month it might release on ps5?

I think they should release on the next Nintendo console. I hope they get a dev kit or whatever. Imagine this game as a launch title on the store. I don't even play on the console anymore, but it's just a thought.
What I don’t understand, “in this economy” why do devs limit their games to only 1 platform? (unless it’s funded for exclusivity for a specific console) Especially in 2024!
Myopic much? :steamsalty:

Right now, SquareEnix is wondering why their exclusive ps5 part 2 of 3 game that is kinda niche (because is a RPG) is not selling well.
