Should I buy this seperately or get the definitive edition?

Is this game in a finished state? I know it will not get support any longer, I wanted to know what yall think. I have bought literally every telltale TWD game in my library except for this one, so it's $5 for this one, or $5 dollars for the definitive edition that contains mostly content I already own.

Is the definitive edition good, or is playing the original version better?

I already bought the definitive edition, found some broken features and am considering returning it, and picking this up on the next sale instead. That new developer is poor, and it seems like they give about the same amount of support as telltale does so, I just wanted to get you guys' opinions on what I should do, or what you would do....

Do any of the saves from the prior seasons affect this game in any way?

Are there broken features and bugs in this version of the game and if so, are they actually fixed in the other version?

Is this version better or is the definitive version better and why?

Again, I already own every single TWD except this one, so I thought the repurchase would be no brainer the best choice until I found broken features.

Do you guys think this is better or the version in the definitive edition?

Thank you for any help you can provide me. I know this isn't a super popular game w lots of players, but somehow the definitive edition discussions have even less people and they are not really very helpful because their bias--all they can see is the great value of all those games (that I already own).

It's hard to say without too many spoilers...
Personally I'm glad I've played them all and reached a point where I'm invested in Clementines character.....there are cut scenes that harken back to the other games that whilst not majorly important, tie in everything better and adds depth to the game as it finalises.

Get them all and play them all...there's plenty of turns that when at one moment I was bored....the next I'm gripped....

Im invested in clem too, and I even remember playing the demo of this game before it got canned. I guess I will opt to keep the definitive edition after all despite the broken features.

I started up the final season and it let me make all the decisions I wanted from the first game and I remember my choices. Maybe there is a way to mod the previous games back to the original style if I don't prefer the new art direction being applied to those. I also realized I never actually bought the final frontier, but know the story, so there's that too.

It seems to play fine though, so whatever, it was cheap enough.

Same here I got season 1 back in 2015 and only played upto episode 4 and bought the rest of them cheap recently as I wanted another zombie game as I bought "the last of us" and neglected to realise I needed a NASA spec GPU to play it...

Overall I was happy as long as I remembered essentially I was watching a mildly interactive comic book and not a game in the typical sense....an old mate of mine always rated the comics as a foundation to the TV series.

I'd like to see more of this...but sadly can't see it....gonna play "Michone" lastly and hope that's as interesting 🤔

Ps if you want a fun zombie game...may I recommend "state of decay"
