Clementine's End... *Spoilers*
Ok, I hate to be that person, but does it bother anyone else with how Clementine lives even though she looks super far along in the virus progression? Let me be clear, I LOVE the ending, I just don't like how the series is very inconsistent with how quickly the virus progresses. Like, Lee looked better than Clem did when his arm was cut off (assuming it was cut off), but yet there was no way to save him. I just wish there was more consistency with that kinda stuff ya know...

sadly its not only the game but the tv shows are also inconsistent and change whenever they want :( tho afterall we should not forget this is all a fictional atmosphere and nothing is ruled or scientific so anything can happen...

Saw a theory online a couple days ago that this could've happened because Clem is actually immune. The colours of her skin coul'dve been her body fighting it? IDK just speculating

Meh, seems like a cheap theory.

I agree, but when I saw it I was like, meehh can't reject it 100%, I mean if the entire thing is a virus, some people are going to be naturally immune, or even asymptomatic.

Fortunately I didn’t have anything spoiled for me playing this a few years after it came out. I thought for certain going into this final season that there was going to be multiple parallels to the first season with Clem taking on the mentor role for AJ, much like Lee did with her. And that Clem would suffer a similar fate as Lee in the end. I was really dreading it playing through the last episode because I remember how emotionally wrecked I was after finishing the first season many years ago. So I’m glad they gave us a happier ending.

since the start i was like... damnn.... the same thing that happened with Lee will happen with clem. when she got bit and he cut her foot i was mostly certain, but then the final scene happened.

I kind of like the full circle aspect of it all, which made it even sadder for me. But yeah, I kind of wish it ended differently because it took that emotional ending away from me. I actually thought it was going to end when AJ looked back while going through the gates.

I thought about it some more this morning and they conveniently left out how they managed to escape. They were in a bad spot and even more so with what AJ had to do.

you know you're kinda right. i wanted a better 'closure' to the series. but i've heard that they left it as such because comics are coming to continue the story

Say what you want, but hearing "hey goofball" after all the mess in the barn just made my heart melt in joy.

I think Lee did not die from the bite being too far gone before being cut off. I think he genuinely bled out from his freshly chopped arm. After you cut Lee's arm off and wrap bandages around it. You can still see blood dripping from his bandages. I think that is what killed him. Unlike Clem (apparently), Lee's wound was not cauterized and so the bleeding never really stopped and that is how he met his fate.

makes sense tbh

Clementine was bit directly on her recently mauled leg(screw you Minnie). The infection is blood borne. Clementine's leg was bleeding a lot. The majority of the bacteria and viruses transferred from the bite was basically 'washed' out. Anything that got into the bloodstream had a very hard time traveling throughout her body. She is also very young and her immune system is stronger than the majority of adults(I doubt this played a major part, but you never know). Chopping off Clem's leg got rid of any remaining infection that was either slowly traveling up her leg or still at the bite area. The walkers bite kills due to the high amounts of bacteria and other pathogens that are naturally in any decomposing body. Although, this makes me think back to A New Frontier where Javi's recently turned father somehow already had decomposed enough to kill his mother and Hector. Please tell me what you think of my theory.

I mean anything is possible, the bandit with one arm had it cut in time. I would have believed it more if the bite was on the outside of the skin and not directly on the open wound. I think the writers played loose with the rules to get the happy ending someone wanted. I can't remember with Serita? (season 2) when you choose to cut her arm right away, does she die because of the infection or loss of blood? Would also like to point out, Clem looked like she was turning, maybe they did that for dramatic effect.
