"Did Clementine’s story end in a way that could leave the door open for a sequel?
“I have ideas of what I would do,” Mudle said, when asked, “but I don’t know if that would happen.”"
Just let the franchise in peace, it was nearly perfect to me. (exept michonne)
Why hate on possible sequels/spinoffs, the originals will still be there either way.
There's plenty you can still do with Clem, even as the playable character. Only question is if it would be worth it, and there really isn't anyway to answer that without playing a final product with her involved. All comes down to the writing
As for her condition, there's ways around that. A homemade prosthetic leg for example? Sure, she won't be sprinting, but she won't need the crutches either.
Flashback stories would be cool too.
What happened when Clem was with Omid and Christa?
What about the 16 months after Omid died?
The gap between leaving New Frontier, and meeting Javi?
Between Clem finding AJ, and then ending up at Ericson?
And all that is if we're just playing as Clem.
If the devs decide they need to keep Clem in the franchise just to insure interest (remember, Clem is pretty mush their most popular character), then having her as a side character, ala New Frontier, would work just fine.
To be honest, until they can prove that another game would work without her, they pretty much need her.
Decide what groups to contact and trade/fight with.
Expand the school to house more survivors.
Send hunters and scavengers groups out.
invite other survivrs to join you, etc etc.
You could do it like a Paradox strategy game, or something smaller like Shelter or Frostpunk.
All that on top of the usual character interaction. Could be fun and a different style for Clem's story. And the 'final' season is still the fnal season.
