is the main character gay?
I played the first game when she was a little girl. I'm not interested in playing the rest, but was curious if the main character girl (forgot her name) becomes gay.

You actually decide it.

She's bisexual regardless of your choice. :P

You decide it, this is a game about choices, even if they have little to no effect.

One of the former Telltale devs revealed in a tweet that Clem is a bi. Things like that should've been kept shut and determined by the players.

It's not new that game developers feel the need to tell us that there are characters with different sexual orientations. Like most of us give a rat's ass.

is there even a need for her to be gay? I mean, does it at all fit with her as a character or the story? or is she gay for the sake of jumping on the "inclusiveness" bandwagon?

I'd like to think it's because it fits with her preferences, but seeing how things go these days... I bet it's more because of political correctness than the other option. If it weren't... why would a dev care about telling the players such a thing? Just to attract possible new customers who only care about things going exactly as they wish they were than the product itself. Fortunately, it doesn't affect your in-game choice (not in this case).

Well, if I should remake your questions, it would something like: "Does something in this relationship destroy what was previously established or only here to promote bad idea?"

In the case of Clementine, being bi, well, doesn't contradicted anything or imply something bad in my opinion. It's not like she said she wasn't bi before at least and she shouldn't. In fact, you can complete go a no-romance (if you except S3 which was garbage), one or two hetero-romances, a gay romance only or hetero + a ♥♥♥♥ romance. So, it's not even that much an important fact in Clem's story as you have a lot of choice. It's just that, if you realy like some character, female or dude, you can decide Clem sees a more "personal" side to that said character but it's not obligatory in any way. The worst thing I could say about Clem being bi is I find the female romance in S4 much more natural and interesting than the hetero one as if it was forced to be better, if we kind of don't count the E3 (in which, without saying too much, the guy isn't as "rude" as the girl at one occasion). Well, I'm a little biaised as I realy like the female romance. But heck, if it wasn't for the political ♥♥♥♥ these times, I woudn't even think about these relationship as a problem for the story (again, we're not facing the pathetic relationships we had in S3).

They might be trying to make up lost ground. I don't recall any examples in Season 1. They had a couple in the second season, but both characters are killed without even seeing them interact.
There's a brief moment in Season 3 where Jesus and Javier had a very short interaction that hint at Javier being bisexual (which I've heard is confirmed), but it's so well hidden, I found out through the wikipedia page. This does exclude Clementine's sexuality being unknown in the first two seasons and only knowing she likes boys in the third (with Gabe). Micchone has a gay couple, but I never bothered with it. Now, with season 4 episode 3, it's possible for it to be blatantly clear that 4 significant characters are LGBT in some way. They're definitely making sure everyone can see them waving the flag after shying away for so long.

I agree with this. Too many games now are trying to push every different agenda they can to make every group happy. Life is Strange and Life is Strange 2 did/do the same

I couldn't care less what a character's sexuality is UNLESS it directly affects the plot or is needed for something involving an actual game play purpose.

You should see the subreddit when the news got out. It was a war zone.
I was on one side arguing why that choice should've been up to me to make what my Clem is. Since the game is so focused on the choices that you make. I'm just saying.

When they can gives us characters who give hints of their sexual orientations, why can't we have straight people do the same? Oh, no. It's political correctness, and if we forget someone, (excluded white straight males), then we'll have SJW over us!
Jaldhuar Feb 13, 2019 @ 5:17am
So far, the choices we made only led to one path (Telltale could have changed that with the ending of S2), choices we sometimes wouldn't always pick in the first place (for exemple, Lee's death). And it will probably happen again. Indeed, it would be embarrassing if a story about Walkers only turn out to be a pledge for bi-story (kind of like S3 was an unintersting story about stupid relationships most of the players didn't realy liked). But it's not what the story is going for so far.

And if they're not going for that, and if they need a canon story, if it happens to have a bi Clementine in it and if that doesn't affect badly the story or contradict what was said before, I don't see where the problem is.
