Marlon wanted to sell Clem and AJ to raiders and tried to kill Clem twice. And since Clem means the world to AJ, that made Marlon in AJ's eyes too drastic a threat to let him live. That's why he shot him. And that's totally understandable and justified.
Look back through the series and pick out the characters who seemed to be good and likeable at first, but then suddenly we find out they are useless, evil, corrupt, manipulative, have secrets or told someone one of our secrets, trying to sell us, trying to eat us etc. It's extremely predictable. Even AJ and the gun was predictable. It was just a matter of who he would shoot and when and how badly he and Clem would be blamed for it.
I was hoping for one these characters to develop more and truly redeem themselves. Imagine if Marlon lived and promised to change? He turns over command to someone else...maybe Clem? But later on Clem is in a situation when she is FORCED to trust him again; Would you trust him? It adds way more tension than him just being killed so soon in the story. He easily could show he hasn't change and be killed later on, but so soon seemed a bit wasted.
His death could be the catalyst that starts the complete breakdown or salvation for the school with all sorts of subplots. He seamed to keep everyone in check ,now that he's dead anything could happen. Imagine how the next meeting with the group that took Ten's sisters is going to go with Clementine doing (you) the talking and Ten out for blood because he saw what AJ did and now knows he too can be strong and fight back.
Aye. AJ is a little brat. Diary and police man further proved this. Kid needs some discipline.
I think he still has potential to not be an annoying ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
But look at Clems history, where ever she finds a settled community she tends to destroy it (Cabin and lodge groups, Howes Hardware, Wellington, Prescott, and Richmond would have fallen if not for Jesus and his group).
Carver knew she was a sociopath now it is being played out in AJ.
Complete and utter bullsh*t. Clem has absolutely no intention of destroying folks lives and she has nothing to do with it (except making escape from Howes, but that's not destroying). Cabin group got on a run because of Carver, lodge group was taken alongside cabin one by him, Howes can survive if they repel the walkers attack, Wellington was attacked by raiders, Prescott was overrun because of old new frontier, Richmond would have fallen because of old new frontier (namely Joan and that ba$tard who threw molotov on the truck Kate was driving) if not for Javi, Clem and Kate.
Carver knew Clem was strong of character and will. She is not a sociopath, that's just your twisted opinion. And AJ simply doesn't comprehend some of "basic" community stuff because he grew up in an apocalypse world.
I really hope so. I WANT to like AJ, but so far that's been a moot point.
Did anyone else get AJ and Tenn confused?? When Clem wakes up after the car accident and sneaks out of the room she was held in, Tenn appears with a little knife or something and looks into the room, I thought that was AJ and I was so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ confused. Why did they have two little black kids that look the same??
