Yea, Clem say: "AJ SHOOT!" and then Abel shot AJ in his head, and after that Clem in her breast.
No truer words have never been spoken.
Man this makes sense but I've just been spoiled by those beautiful bastards over at Quantic Dream. They just had to go and make a massive branching story game that went so far above and beyond into the ridiculous. To make Detroit the standard for story/narritive games would be insane yes but god I would love at least a little branching. Telltale has deffinitely gotten better at making it feel as though player choice matters on some occations but I feel they're still pretty weak when it comes to character death. The variation of player choice impacts so little when the "red shirts" bite it and it kinda hurts the overall scene. Again I'm not asking for a full branching narritive (but I wouldn't complain :P) but I'd love to see more variance in the way death is handled. Like maybe having someone else kill Marlon in the end depending on how that confrontation went. Cuz when that man's face popped I couldv'e honestly seen Violet of Tenn holding that gun with the way the episode played out for me. I dunno this won't be the last telltale game (knock on wood) so it's something I'm looking out for them to improve on
how do you figure? telltale has made determinant characters before so it's not impossible, they could cut back his role in the game simple as that...but more importantly, they shouldn't have killed him off because he was such an interesting character...the ending was lame
sadly, you are 100% correct....it's just really disappointing that telltale can't just get it fng right...it's the final season and they put a lot of work into this as it has been their sole focus for a long time; you would have thought they could have done a better job with the choices mattering for this final game.
Carey/Doug death. Ben's death etc. It's been done already.
That character is the literal representation of the 'ILLUSION OF CHOICE' it doesn't matter if he is alive or dead, literaly nothing changes if he is alive at the end of the season.
His character development ends at the end of episode 3 if you have him alive, in the episodes 4 and 5 he has 4 lines of dialogue at the very best.
Not that many people even noticed, 80% of the players killed him, with good reason.
the real hero of the comments section! i was about to replay the whole episode to try and save marlon! i just convinced him to drop the gun and we were gonna demote him and do it all peacefully... but GAWD AJ... LEARN HOW TO READ A ROOM.
