The Game Won't Open *Resolved*

Right when I launch the game, it says the program stops working and I have to close it. Does anyone know if i can fix this? I'll redownload the game, but I'd prefer not to as it takes a day for me.

Go into the local files and rightclick the exe start as admin. For me it works.

I have a slightly different resolution for the hanging problem, if your issue like me is that you have Windows 10 Controlled Folder Access enabled (or potentially any security software that prevents access to your Documents folder).

If you do, you are probably used by now to a lot of games failing on first run, having to allow the app through (thankfully they added a failure history to help this now!), and then restarting it.

However, I found that with this game, after allowing the app through Controlled Folder Access, I also had to delete the folder it had created on first attempt - \Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead The Final Season - so it could create this afresh (otherwise it continued to hang on startup). The next time I ran it, it opened up ok.

Thank you all for the suggestions. Compatibility mode with Win 8 helped me.

Windows 8 Compatibility Mode worked for me. Wish I had tried that before Uninstalling and Redownloading the entire thing... thank you!!
