Telltale games are all about the ILLUSION of choice.
You dont notice it the first time you play the games, but if you ever replay them you notice how little you really can influence.
The story is on rails, and will always lead to the same destination.
The only major diverging decisions are at the end of a season and then those get retconned the next season so everyone is still at the same place at the start.
