Unfortunately, I still think this bundle requires a VERY deep discount before I could even consider it worth the price. A lot of these games were great for their time but I'm not dropping $30 for a collection of prehistoric roms.
Imho it worth it not for game themselves only, but also for accompanying museum section which is done very good - not only images of flyers/posters, but also different scans of guides, photos etc. and also comments about this or that details and anecdotes from SNK history.
TL;DR good release if you love exploring legacy of video game industry, but out of 24 titles most players would only play and replay around 7 or less, i'd say.
Devs.
The Crystalis port is almost 1:1. Amazing. The emulator you used was really spot on. I've only seen a single mapper error, and it's exclusively from overscan which not all emulators do correctly.
10/10
The current 50% sale is also pretty good, but I've always been one to only really purchase during the store wide seasonal sales for the little bonus things I can get. This collection will have a very high spot on my list and possibly be something I'll pick up in the winter
Not sure what emulator they're using but it's almost 1:1 perfect... there's only a few minor overscan errors (or lack thereof) compared to original hardware, but hey may have been intentionally fixed for this port.
I never played it yet. I'm just curious.
Oh, if you didn't play it back in the day then it's just a generic NES action RPG
But at the time it was hyped as one of the BEST action RPGs and wasn't tabled for a long time... not until the mid~late SNES era
I didn't play it back in its heyday, but I did have an NES. It's my favorite game on here so far. It plays a lot like a Zelda game (but with xp levels).
