Lasers don't work?

Got myself 3 lasers. Apparently they don't do anything. Missiles work fine but lasers don't fire when hitting space. Bug or am I doing something silly?

Lasers only work if you have an enemy locked on (that is in range, you can upgrade that range), you can't shoot them at nothing

Right click an enemy to lock it with laser.

Then press and hold down SPACE until you see laser starts firing.

The more you hold down SPACE the more lasers will fire if you have more than one.

Maybe you need to switch your active secondary weapon with R
