GTAV is literally the only game whose community uses that term as a pejorative.
Since when did anyone start calling people who download and use cheats 'modders'?
Will not be buying.
Which is sad as it was pretty much the only game I was really looking forward to.
Also not going to buy it on steam a year later, not even with a good discount.
With all that said, I wish IO nothing but the best.
IO Interactive A/S have just earned a proud spot on the blacklist of sellouts that don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about their players.
It’s not that the zillion launcher situation on PC isn’t worth talking about, it’s just not worth all this anger and the made up bull**** to justify it (which also makes actual conversation very difficult).
I'll wait for the release in 2022, but since the game will be a year old by then, I expect a good discount. I'm not paying full price.
Epic would have to PAY me.
At this point you are just making a strawman argument to sidetrack the actual topic.
No one is complaining about multiple launchers or multiple game stores in relation to this specific event; it's EGS specifically that is the problem.
It's not an issue of "Steam good, more launchers bad" it's specifically EGS that we don't like and for numerous reasons that have already been covered in numerous threads. If you really think the problem is "we don't like multiple launchers" you either haven't been paying attention or have only a tenuous grasp on the English language.
If it was just a multiple launcher issue, it would have been just a few casual annoyance comments and we'd all still be buying it. ioi store exclusive? Sure why not, we can support a new publisher. GOG exclusive? Sure, why not, it would have been a weird sidestep to cater to the DRM haters, but at least GOG isn't anti-consumer. Steam exclusive? I'd never ask for that but it is the user base that supported ioi through the last four years of their struggles on PC.
The list goes on of various launchers that might have been tolerated without too much grumbling in this community and while exclusives to any store other than the publishers own platform would be weird, it's only EGS that most of us have a problem with.
It's really bizarre that you are now trying to make this a debate over multiple launchers when the issue is EGS. You might as well be trying to argue over whether horse makes for good breakfast meat, it's irrelevant to the topic.
The zillion launchers on PC issue includes the pros and cons of each launcher, but my point is none of it is worth the hate and anger that pours out of gamers whenever a game announces it's Epic exclusive. That's all because gamers love being angry, and shouldn't be legitimized.
