Luring a target with the Briefcase is a bit OP?
Placing a briefcase to "distract" and luring a target should work the same way as a regular distraction, if a target is getting the briefcase in it's own view.

Right at the moment, after beating a few runs for ssosa-challenges, this very action feels like,
that it it's enough to bring in a briefcase in any location to distract and lure the target with it.
If the target's view is crossing the briefcase and get the target's attention,
the target will walk after the briefcase, instead of telling a person/PERSONAL bodyguard to checking out what's going on, for an easy hit.

I think beating some master-challenges is now a lot easier, if time doesn't matter.

Same thing happens with placed coins, placed phone, placed ducks, etc

Any non weapon item that is placed rather than thrown will lure a target if it's in their view

Targets send a bodyguard if it's a visible weapon or for most thrown noises
I thought it's an exclusiv perk/feature to the coin and the briefcase.
But thank you, even if the topic now feels so nevermind,
Im happy with the briefcase and any Siege 300 in it. ;)

Well, what is exclusive to the briefcase is that they will wander off and carry it somewhere. Either deposit it in front of a guard who will take it away or they might take it to the storage area themselves

The other small items they just pocket and return to their routines

So you can still use the briefcase to change certain patterns, also works with non target, non guards if you want them to leave for a bit

I used this method several times for the snipe-sa-so-challenges on any difficult,
but it seems sniping the target and doing a S.O.-run to master the challenges don't stack,
or it's bugged.

I didn't know that you can place many other "non weapon items" to lure a target, beside the coin and the briefcase. What are the other items? Idoubt that it could be a hammer or an iron?

any distraction or explosive that is legal to open carry visibly: ducks, dolls, phone, robot, etc

if it's illegal they run off to tell a guard, the same as any gun, if it's legal appearing they pocket it the same as a coin

Of course if it's a proximity one (like the iconator) they will blow themselves up with it

Others you can reuse until you trigger it (napleon, robot, etc), or until someone actually answers it when you make it ring (the phone), you can knock them out and turn it off if you stop them before they hit the answer button

There's a lot of things you can use to manipulate behavior

You should do a video of some of your ssosa-challenges with the briefcase, it's always fun seeing people use an item/technique that are different than mine.
I don't know anything about "this", because I think my pc isn't that good and could handle both recording and running Hitman.
Since a week, I got me an old new for me GPU (Nvidia GTX 750 Ti), but the locations won't even load and after the finish loading and start to hear Diana's voice the game crashed, if I play the game with dx12. At first I was happy, because I thought I can run the gamer with dx12,
but I just tested dx12 once on the miami location,
and after the crash I set it back to dx11, so I think dx12 isn't a good deal for the game .

But here is my recipe/plan for beating a few challenges in the miami location on master difficult.

Loadout:
Any suit
Krug Mayer Blablabla Schmidt Pistol or whatever the name is.
Briefcase with a Siege 300
Lockpick
Startinglocation: Yacht Habour

Head straight to the locked shop, unlock both or at least the front door grab the baseball/bat inside.
Go to the drugdealer, wait until the guard turning his back to you. K.O @the drugdealer,
hide him in the stashbox, grab his key and open the snackbar.
Go back to the formerly locked "shop", lure the security inside and hide the guard in the stashbox, take his weapon. Place the breifcase a few meters away from the front door.
Let RKnox and his bodyguard pass the fron door, open the doof and throw the baseball, you probably have to open the front door again, let the guard walk to the breifcase, subdue the guard ---> stashbox. Take the baseball again, wait until that one dude, who's observing the area, turning his back on you. Lure knox wirth the baseball to the egde of the rack and snipe him into the ocean.

On master difficult I use the one savepoint after I killled the half of the targets of a location, if the shoot was clean.

Next head to the underground garage and grab the car key and hand the key over to the pink flamingo.

The next stop is the left overpass to cross the raceway (from the point of view: the yacht habour). Both racewatchers up there K.O'd by throwing the briefcase at their head. Grab the crowbar at the beginning of the overpass. Next stop: the area of the abandon hotel. Lure the two guards near by into the backyard and subdue ---> stashbox them one by one and hide both.

Wait for the flamingo getting killed by Sierra, get out of the stashbox take your shot, hide the body, escape through the sewers.

Btw: It's not a speedrun-plan, I just hope that this will work, because it's working on any other difficult, even if there is more cameras and probably one more guard in the backyard of the hotel area.

With nvidia shadowplay, recording is almost seemless, or at least I've never noticed a performance impact. I can't speak for other recording software, but shadowplay is a very lightwieight client that records straight off what the GPU was already rendering so it's not a second process capturing the screen.
Oh, that's great to know.
I'll investigate this situation a bit, and maybe I will upload a run in the future.
Thank you for your words!

I keep meaning to test out some of the Nvidia features, especially to take better screen shots
