Hitman 2 expansion pack

I own the Hitman GOTY Legacy pack- every mission, Patient Zero, the costumes- all of 'em. But wheen I try to buy the Hitman 2 expansion pass, it says:

"Your transaction failed because you are trying to buy 'HITMAN™ 2 - Expansion Pass' which requires ownership of 'HITMAN 2 – The Complete First Season Legacy Pack'. Please correct the error and try again".

I'm going crazy. I already redeemed the legacy pack in Hitman 2, played the entire first season on Hitman 2- yet why does it say that I don't own the legacy pack? Please help.

I guess what it says is you need to buy Hitman 2 main missions first.

But isn't the Expansion Pack the H2 main missions themselves? It says 'Ownership of the *first season* legacy pack', which I already have. I'm so confused.

Hi mate are you sure you own hitman 2 and didn't just download the free demo? There is a season pass for hitman 2 which isnt out yet and the base game hitman 2 which can awkwardly show as free on the store.

You need to buy the standard edition if you dont own it to play hitman 2 https://store.steampowered.com/app/863550/HITMAN_2/ It will allow to play hitman 1 in the free version of hitman 2 which is what I suspect is going on for you.

Frankly the whole thing is one big ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mess tbh handled very poorly. I had dramas getting hitman into hitman 2 despite owning them both and it took multiple restarts and validations to get it working,

Hitman 2 is its own standalone game, the expansion pass for Hitman 2 are levels that haven't been released yet. The legacy pack just lets you play the 'remastered' Hitman 1 levels in Hitman 2.

You misread what the steam store told you and you refuse to read an explanation of what you didn't understand

You need to own the Standard edition or higher to buy the expansion pass, the expansion pass is not the Hitman 2 levels it is a preorder for the 2 planned dlc.
Read the store descriptions carefully and you'll understand this, or read Kunovega's guide which breaks it down into very simple terms for you.

I have hitman 2 gold edition. I am unable to play anything other than the prologue. What am I missing here? I spent $99 and I can't play anything but 1 mission?

The game let's you play while it installs. You either don't have the DLC checked off in your library or you haven't waited long enough for it to actually install.
