what is considered as 'spotted?'
i'm pursuing suit only on mastery lvl on Hokiado. I've completed it twice as required for the challenege yet it won't check off suit silent assassin, never detected. My understanding of being 'spotted' is when a notification appears saying I've been spotted trespassing. I reload my save and start from there. Does this carry over?

Also, there's a couple of instances where I lure guards be letting the guard see me before the notification appears. Does this count against being spotted?

Or is it never being detected to the point a guard leaves their post?

Lastly, I've erased the security footage too, even though they never spotted me

If you were seen doing anything wrong, its spotted

Long answer.

Reloading is fine. God knows how many times I reloaded Colorado. Getting spotted by camera is "fine" so long as it didn't spot you doing something illegal or are in an illegal area for the disguise (100% certain for Master, unsure for Pro on that one, but I believe so as well) and you delete the footage. In other words, if it just said you got recorded, is fine. If the camera reacts and a guard comes over, deleting will not work.

Luring of guards over is completely fine, is only an issue if they order you to follow them. Even if you follow them, you are spotted therefore SA is over. On that issue, bullet impact noticed don't count as spotted either.

Have you checked in the the detailed scoreboard screen, on the right, do you have points for everything other than Non-Target deaths or something? Just in case that the reason you are failing to get SA/SO is not getting spotted but something else entirely. And correct me if I'm wrong, the ninja disguise does not count as Suit Only either if you are using mountain path.

I just did, got 0 points bc a body was found. Not sure where this is happening at since I hide all of the bodies. Also, previously I would leave the bodie in a corner from those I was luring and at no point on both playthroughs did it say, "body found" so not sure where this issue is coming from. Soders is killed bc i dispose of his heart and Yamazaki is killed in the sauna, which i then hide the body in the temp room. Again not sure what body is being found. thanks for the explanation, all the details have remained the same from the past HM games

Hmm, I guess if you reloaded from that a save point to play again, then probably it was before that save point. You might have missed it when it told you a body was found, because I never had issue with Yamazaki being found in the sauna, and even then it is an accident kill normally.

Sometimes is not immediately clear that a body has been found if you knocked them soon as they found a body. I suggest just try and do it from the start. Failing that, try another method for Yamazaki; replace cigrarette (found on the groundsman by helipad) in the dining area (climb over) and then puncture the oil drum by the part you can climb down in the garden to the neurochip. I did that for my SA/SO on this game, so it definitely works

I did that on my first playthrough. Only other thing i can think of is doing a playthrough w/o saving

That's fine. No idea what your issue is.

You are spotted if:

You were seen doing something you shouldn't have, including carrying a weapon ("crime noticed" notification)
You were seen in an area you shouldn't have been in (found trespassing)
Camera spots you doing either of the above will also count as spotted.

Note if you subdue or pacify people from the front it will count you as spotted as well since they "saw" it coming.

just did it on mastery w/o saving and reloading even though I did it the same way as before. Probably doing it on one go is the requirement on Mastery?

No definitely not.

I restarted like 20 times in Colorado as I try to get Berg, Rose and Graves in one cycle. Half of those attempt was getting in the bloody basement unspotted. Still got SA/SO. Bet is more likely a glitch

guess it was a buggy save then. Just did another run w/o hidding a couple of guard bodies in an area that was not patroled and w/o restarting, got SA. Just wanted to confirm for myself if bodies needed to be actually hidden in a container/closet or not.

damn bugs

Not a requirement, but be aware that reloading a save point sometimes resets npc pathing, a guard may have wandered and found the body in one version but not the other. A run without reloads is different path timing than after you reload

If you find yourself in any situation where you've reloaded numerous times and cant figure out why something weird is happening, start fresh the timing was probably off

I've wasted a lot of time on bad reloads. I remember once spending over an hour on a Club 27 SA/SO master run where I had saved after killing Morgan and after crossing the roof but not before climbing up the pipe to the top floor. Everything should have been perfect, but after messing up and reloading the timing on the party room talkers was messed up, I reloaded a dozen times and they kept turning at odd times and spotting me

I started over and did the run perfect without getting spotted on the first try, because I knew the timing of the normal conversion, but not the reloaded version

Not really true. If you use a non-illegal item from the front the animation will kick in before the npc has a chance to spot you = not spotted. Npc's are unable to spot, report or basically do anything when in an animation.
