My brother download the demo to see if the game could run fine on his pc. So it did, he wanted to buy it. But now, the game tells him, "he already owns Hitman 2", can't fully buy the game.

Go to acc settings and remove the game

You still should be able to buy it, from steam store page see which edition you will buy

If that still doesn't work then go there

and "Remove HITMAN 2 - Prologue" you will be able to buy it

If he can not buy any version on store page, go to account settings > view licenses and key activations > find Hitman 2 prologue > remove. Go to store page again, should be able to purchase now. ;-)

And if the store complains that he already owns it when he adds it to the cart: that’s just the store being dumb.

Source: bought it and it unlocked, even when the store told me I already ‘owned’ it) (I did end up reinstalling it though before it worked.
