Anyone else encountered this bug? IAGO Invitation Paris

So I recently bought Hitman 2 (as a huge fan of the series having played Blood Money to death and kinda disappointed with Absolution) and started on all the legacy stuff, finishing off Jasper Knight quite beautifully. I start the Paris mission to take out Viktor and Dalia, with Viktor drowning gloriously in a toilet bowl of his own vomit.

I find the IAGO Invitation in the bathroom and proceed upstairs to deal with Dalia after I change back into my suit. Everything goes fine. Find out they want to frisk me so I regret bringing my pistol. I head back downstairs to find a trash bin to discard the offending firearm, and retrace my steps to go back upstairs.

However, this time when I am prompted to hold x to show my invitation, nothing happens. I keep trying, nothing. I try to walk through, trespassing. I walk off completely, but no matter where I go I keep getting the prompt for "show invitation" but it does nothing. Finally I say screw it and end up dying attempting an insane plan to try to steal a guard's uniform which I doubt would have worked anyway.

Has anyone else encountered this bug? I could find no info on its existence following a google search and a search on this forum. Loving this game so far, a huge improvement over Absolution and feels way more like Blood Money. But that one kinda killed the mood! I will try the mission again and see what happens.

I did encounter this just a few days ago, I did everything normal up until the show invitation part, in which the animation won't trigger until the third time I tried. Been playing this game a lot but this is the first time I encounter this.

Just FYI, but there's many ways to get upstairs without that invitation, even in your suit

far right, past the garden you can sneak into the backyard and climb up the pipes to the 2nd or even 3rd floors. I don't remember the last time I even bothered to pick up the invitation

I just had this problem, solution was to get out of 47's suit. But I could not climb ledges or change disguise, but I was able to change disguise when I draged someone, then I could play normally again.
