Hitman 2 - Legacy - Patient Zero - The Author problem
Hi, in this mission I always get 0 pts for "never compromised" for some reason, even though I'm sure that I wasn't compromised at any time during this mission. First I went to Akram's house, distracted the 2 guards with coins, took them out, then lockpicked Akram's door and poisoned him with the syringe (I also tried melee in another playthrough). After that, I picked up the virus, took Akram's disguise and went to the church. I knocked out the cleaner and hid his body. Then, I waited for Black to finish his speech and when he was walking towards the desk and before his bodyguard started following him, I pricked him with a poisoned syringe. Then I left in the boat. Throughout the mission I never got the "compromised" message, I was paying attention to that. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? Please, help.

I believe it is a bug.

I had the same happen, the score showed I had been compromised, but I still received SA/SO.

Did you save Jeff from suicide?

Wouldn't that be a non-target kill, if you don't?

I discovered two interesting facts: 1) I still got The "SA" achievement, even with the penalty. 2) The same bug happens in Patient Zero - Hokkaido.

Who's Jeff? Could you explain?

Jeff is a guy in the Patient Zero campaign, 47 is his Guardian Angel.

The Cult commits suicide after the mission is over and Jeff's wife/girlfriend is among the dead. In the next mission (Sapienza - The Author) he can be found contemplating suicide, you can save him.
If you save him he will appear in the Colorado Sniper mission, again attempting suicide. Save him to continue.
When you get to Hokkaido, Jeff can be found in the central garden, wearing a Hawaiian shirt, again trying to kill himself.

Each mission contains bits of "The Story of Jeff".

Time to search for Jeff in Miami, I wonder if the flamingo costume covers his tat-scar...

Okay... and how exactly are you supposed to save him? And where do I find him in these three maps?

This "feature" did not exist in the first Hitman.

You can find Jeff on a bench in the Sapienza courtyard outside Caruso villa. Next to him should be suicide note. He'll try to kill himself something around 3:20 min from the start of the mission. Just save him and you shouldn't have problem with getting 5 stars for " The Author" mission.

Yes, actually this Easter Egg was in the last game Hitman (2016)

In Patient Zero The Source (Bangkok) Jeff is the man in the Hawaiian Shirt arguing with his wife about how he wants to leave the cult while in the bathroom. In that mission he's intended to be an easy method for obtaining the cult disguise. You can knock either him or his wife out and take their room key. Jeff's room is next to yours on the floor below and contains his unused cult outfit which you can then steal from the bedroom.

By the story line the cult members including Jeff's wife kill themselves after the ritual, Jeff spends the next 3 missions contemplating suicide. You can find his first note in Sapienza. In Colorado you have to shoot a barrel before he shows up otherwise he'll burn himself to death after dropping a cigarette and if you've saved him those two times he will show up again in Hokkaido.

Here is Jeff in the bathroom arguing with his wife, so you know what he looks like and where his story starts:

Here's a chain of events saving him, this is recorded in 2017 from Hitman (2016) GOTY Edition

(Might I also note that wasn't the "first" Hitman, not even close)

Thanks for the info. Yes, I do remember him from the bathroom in Bangkok, but I thought it was just a random NPC with random dialogue. Regardless of that, why letting him kill himself result in a "never compromised" penalty? And how do you save him in Hokkaido without messing up the whole mission, like it's shown in the video?

His activity shouldn't have any effect on anything and when it does its a glitch

Okay, thanks. I hope they fix it soon, then.
