Unfortunately, your options are to revert back to the previous driver, or just ignore it until the next update in about 2 weeks.
Probably the better solution will be for the game developer to actually fix the glitch in the game... but who knows if they will even try to fix it... best case scenario is for the next nvidia drivers version to actually include the workaround once more...
It will crash when trying to watch full-screen video (YT, Prime, any streaming service, so far).
But as for Hitman 2, I have not noticed any graphical glitches with the new driver.
...that's now how any of this works.
If it works on the consoles, works on other graphics cards, and worked on this graphics card before the update, the assumption really has to start with the graphics card driver being the issue. If it was a game glitch, everyone would see it.
Under the covers, the water graphics are just math formulas. The math doesn't change based on the graphics cards, what changes is how the graphics card reads and processes the math formulas.
We also know that the previous issues were with the graphics card related, not the game (I haven't confirmed the current iteration specifically, but I assume it's still the case based on it being caused by the driver update).
Keep in mind, the water glitch only happens on the legacy maps... so everyone not using the nvidia drivers version 417 will probably will be able to see the glitch... for some reason, it doesn't happen with the new missions, only the legacy maps (Paris, Sapienza, Marrakesh, Hokkaido, Thailand and Colorado)...
And, lo and behold, it started happening after driver update (418.81), so it's not a coincidence.
